At the ramen shop, Xahn and Vahra were stared at by many Guardians who weren't sure what to think. Some looked confused, some looked slightly scared, and one looked back and forth between the Hive and his drink.
"Ok, everyone", Ghost said, getting the attention of the group, "we could be called down to the Vanguard Hall at any time, so we should be ready to leave as quickly as possible". The group nodded, and went back to eating ramen. Just after they had finished eating and had paid, Ghost recieved a message from Zavala, calling them to the Hall, "perfect timing", he said to himslef. They went to the Vanguard Hall. On the way there, Maria overheard two Warlocks talking.
"Did you hear what Lakshmi saw?"
"Her vision of the war with the Cabal?"
"Yes, that one"
"I have heard about it, why do you ask?"
"Do you think it will actually happen?"
"Of course! I don't know of a single vision of Lakshmi's that hasn't happened eventually".
Maria soon figured out what was being discussed. The Red War was coming, and soon.
The group arrived at the Vanguard Hall, and met with Zavala, I more, Cayde, and the Speaker.
"We have agreed", the Speaker began, "that you all may stay in the Tower and the City for as long as you would like".
"Thank you", Maria said, "I think I speak for all three of us when I say that we are very grateful". The Two Hive nodded silently in agreement.
The Speaker nodded, then began to walk back to his post, while the Vanguard went back to their tasks at their table.
A few days later, everything was peaceful, other than the storm that grew worse by the minute. The group had decided to go out for some ramen, and invited Cayde along. After a while, Sundance whispered something to Cayde, and he suddenly had to leave, but he wouldn't say why, he just paid for his food and left. No one thought much of it, except for Maria, who knew what would happen in a few minutes.
Vahra asked Maria if she was ok, as she sensed that Maria was stressed. Maria told her that she was ok, just wondering why Cayde had to leave.
"Aren't we all?" Xahn asked rhetorically. Soon, explosions could be heard, and evacuation orders were given over the Tower's intercoms. The Red War had just begun.
