Chapter 9

~(Y/N) Pov~

I woke up to the sound of my music box playing, it was the first time I woke up peacefully. I slowly sit up still hearing the sound of a lullaby, I didnt really feel like shutting it off though so I just left it on while I left my room. I yawn as walk into the kitchen, my dad was sitting at the table just reading the newspaper and playing with the sugar cubes. I wasnt really hungry so I just sat down at the table as well, "dad-"

I got interrupted by my dad talking over me. "(Y/N), I wasnt trying to but into your personal life. You know I was just worried for your safty" I just stare at him while he looks at the newspaper. I then look down at my hands that were sitting nicely on the table, I looked over at my pinky and stared at the string. That made me remember what I tried to do last night, 'Ugh....i cant believe I even tried to cut it, what was I thinking...'

You know, now that I think about it----i never told my dad that I found my soulmate. I never told him that I had the string of fate on my pinky, i now felt kinda bad because i used to tell him everything. "Dad, i...I need to tell you something" I told liz, I couldn't just keep it away from dad...it wouldn't be fair. "What is it?" He put down the newspaper and looked at me with a soft smile. "Well, I know I shouldn't have kept it a secret from you.

Especially when I can trust you with anything" My dad was now looking at me with curiosity, he also seemed hurt that I kept secrets from him. "Its actually good, I got the soulmate string dad" He was a bit surprised by this, he didnt even say anything and let me continue. "I also found my soulmate as well" He probably didnt think I would get the string, I mean its me. That's when he started to fake cry, kinda like an anime character fake crying.

"You mean after all this time you found a soulmate and didnt tell meeeee!?" He started crying more and I started laughing at how ridiculous he sounded, "I'm sorry dad, I told liz-" He interrupted me again. "YOU TOLD ELIZABETH AND NOT MEEEE?!" He started crying more. I just kept laughing at him, I just couldn't help it. "I'm sorry dad" He then just stared at me with a teary face, I was still kinda laughing at him.

"So *sniff* who is your soulmate" That's when it hit me, should I tell him that light was my soulmate? 'Would....dad except it?' My dad was now staring at me with a serious look with some hint of curiosity, i didnt know if i should tell him but i cant just stop. "Well you know light?" I didnt even have to say it, he knew that once I said his name...dad didnt look to pleased though. He actually hated it, but why? "Are you serious (y/n)...?"

"Yea, why?" I had a dumb smile on my face while dad looked kinda concerned, maybe even untrusting. "(Y/N), do you even trust him" I guess dad seemed very suspicious of light, my dad was smart and probably thought light was dangerous. Well he isnt wrong...light is very dangerous, 'he killed so many criminals...' I couldn't tell dad though, he wont even let me out of the house if he finds out. He would put me under supervision by

police and even by detectives, he would put everything in his power to keep me safe. Not gonna lie...it wouldn't be that bad because....ever since I found out that light was my soulmate... 'Its like...light put me in chains. It's like I cant escape from his grasp no matter how hard I try' That's when I give my dad a sincere smile, "Of course I trust him, I should always trust my soulmate dad" Dad looked like he didnt want me to trust him but he knows he cant change my mind. He trusted mom...

So dad then changed the subject, "Hey do you think you can go to the store, we need some more stuff for dinner" I looked at him with another sincere smile. "Yea no problem but I'll need some more money" he nodded and went back to reading the newspaper while I went back to doing my own thing.
