Chapter 3

~(Y/N)'s Pov~

My head was on my desk again, I was waiting for Liz to get my lunch. Yea I kinda forgot to make my own lunch this morning, luckily Liz always has extra for me. I sigh, "Hey" Without lifting my head, I look up to see yagami giving me a nice smile. "Your the girl I bumped into right?" I didn't speak, all I did was nod my head. "I'm sorry, I never got your name. My name is-" I cut him off before he could say his name. "Yagami...I know, but my name is (y/n) (l/n)..." I kinda felt depressed for some reason, it's not like me to act this way. "I have your lunch (y/n)!" Yea, did you know that she said that from across the hall? She is loud as hell. Then I see Liz walk in with two bento boxes, "What did you make this time?"

Liz gave me a smile and put her finger to her lips. "It's a secret" I lift my head up and just stare at the bento. 'I'm kinda scared now——I don't want it to be poisonous' Wondering why I would think that? Cause the last time Liz made lunch for me, she gave me food poisoning. That was when she also said 'it's a secret'. I sometimes feel like Liz is secretly plotting to kill me. "Liz, if you do what you did last time I'm gonna kill you." She shook her head at me, "Don't worry, mom made it this time" Please don't think me and Liz are sisters or something, I just cal her mom—mom. Cause I don't want to keep saying her moms name, it kinda annoys me. That was when Liz noticed yagami, "Oh light! W-what are you doing here?"

I face palmed myself. "Well I just decided to eat in the classroom instead" I look over at Liz, she has a small blush creeping up on her face. I sigh again. That was when I felt my pinky hurt once more, I winced a little bit but not enough to cause a whole scene like this morning. I lift up my pinky and start massaging it, "So (l/n), you should tell me more about yourself" I didn't even notice that yagami was talking to me. "(Y/N)?" I snap out of it and looked over at Liz, "Your not acting right (y/n), do you not feel good?" I shake my head fastly. "N-no no, I'm just tired is all" Do people eat when there tired? Cause I noticed that I haven't even eaten my lunch yet. That was when I saw yagami's finger, 'Red thread...!?'

"Mommy? Does everyone have a red thread?" She nods her head at me and gives me a nice pat on the head. "Yes but only their soulmate can see there thread, like mine and your fathers. Only I can see his thread and he can only see mine, just trust me (y/n)...you'll know who your soulmate is....

"(Y/N)?" I look over at Liz but once I looked at her, she threw a tiny piece of paper at my head. "I need to see you after school okay?" She was then on her way to her next class. "Elizabeth is a nice person" I sigh, "You sure we're talking about the same person here? She annoys me so much but I love her...." I didn't know if that sentence made any sense but it's already been said. Can't go back. "Hey yagami..." I heard a 'hm' come from him while he looked back at me. "When break time comes around..." He had a questioning look, "Nevermind..." I gave him a smile. "You know yagami, we haven't had a proper introduction" He also gave me a smile. "Yes, maybe we could be friends"

I nod and hold out my hand, the one with the thread. "Nice to meet you light yagami" that was when he held his hand out, I saw the red thread on his pinky again. I didn't pay any mind to it till we finally touched our hands for a handshake. Once our hands touched one another, we both froze in place with a shock expression. Our eyes were locked on each other's as well, then it was like something out of a dream. We both saw our threads tying together.

"Mommy? What if you don't see your thread tied to anyone?" She was rubbing my back as smoothly as possible, "Then once you find your soulmate, make sure to shake hands with them. It will be like something out of a dream"

"Alright class take your seats" Me and yagami we're out of shock once the teacher said something. "Yagami, your late to your class. So are you (l/n), so get to class now!" We both rushed to get our bags and went out the door, once we were far enough away from the classroom I hear yagami laugh. "Heh, I thought you were in trouble for a second" I fold my arms and look at yagami, "Hmph you almost got in trouble too" He shrugged it off. "Well I'll see you later (l/n)" He waved goodbye and left me alone in the hallway. Even though I hate skipping class, I decided to just hangout in the hallways. For some reason I didn't feel like going to class, not after what happened with me and yagami.

I drop my bag and look down at my pinky, I can see now that the thread is longer. 'I-it connected to........yagami....'

~Time Skip~

It was finally the end of the day, Liz and I were in our last class. I actually couldn't wait to go home, today was such a strange day——it made me want to go home and watch tv. Maybe even have Liz come over to hangout. "Any questions?" No one raised there hands, to be honest I feel like no one really cared for the lessons. RING RING Then the bell finally rang, I was really happy too. "Remember everyone, whoever has cleaning duty today must stay after." After the teacher said that, everyone went over to the board. Most of them were happy that they didn't have cleaning duty, but I also had to make sure that I didn't have it either. I stood up and went over to the board, I got excited cause I didn't have cleaning duty today but SOMEONE had to ruin that excitement. "Hey (y/n), you have duty today"

It was weird cause I would have seen my name at first glance, maybe it was because I haven't been myself all day. "Damn it..." I kinda wanted to pinch Liz for telling me that but it wasn't her fault. "Looks like you have to clean all the classrooms on this floor, it kinda sucks that they only have 2 people cleaning on each floor right (y/n)?" I nodded. "I was hoping I could go home..." Liz then looked at me, "I could stay and help if you'd like" I gave her a weak smile and shook my head no. "No, it's okay. It shouldn't take long, I mean I'm great at cleaning fast." It was true, Liz has a 4 story house and it only took me 15 minutes to clean it. Yes Liz is rich, I mean I could be taking advantage of her but Liz is just to sweet.

I couldn't even if I tried, she doesn't even act like a rich kid. "Well if you say so" I give her a cocky smile and grip her shoulders. "Aha!" I hear Liz giggle, "Alright I'll see you tomorrow then, make sure to get home safe" I waved goodbye to Liz. I still had some time before I had to start cleaning so I just went back to my desk and took out a book. "(L/N)?" I haven't even started reading it yet and someone was already trying to bug me, I just want everyone to hurry up and leave. I mean I also want to go home. I sigh out of annoyance and look up, "Y-yagami?" He gave me a smile. "I guess you got stuck with cleaning duty to huh?" I put my book back and stand up, I then started to look around the classroom.

"If you wondering if everyone left, they did. Well most of them" I nodded and turned back to him. "Do you have to clean this floor to yagami?" I see him rub the back of his head and nod at me. I also took notice that he had his bag with him, but I then looked further down. NOT IN THAT WAY YOU SICK PERVERTS! All I did was look down his hand, I wanted to see his pinky. I wanted to see that red thread like I did before, "Hey yagami.." I heard a 'hm' from him, I then walked closer to him. To the point where I'm literally right in front of him. "What is it (l/n)?" I stared deeply at his pinky but I couldn't see that thread. "Yagami...do you remember what happened earlier today...when our hands touched..?"
