I scramble out of the classroom faster than the speed of light, clutching my books to my chest. I move my legs as fast as humanly possible without running through the halls like a madwoman, but fastwalk with long strides to attempt at putting distance between Kade and I.
I round a corner and exhale, struggling to catch my breath. I ignore the few strange glances I receive from some of my fellow peers and dare to peek my head around the corner. With wide eyes and parted lips I scan the hallway of flooded with people during the passing period. Some milling about talking, others determined to head straight to their next class, some gathering materials at their lockers jamming with headphones in their ears. I breathe a sigh of relief when I don't notice a furious Kade storming the halls with his brow furrowed dressed all in black like the reaper, hunting me down like I'm his prey. I lean against the wall behind me and loosen my arms around my books, allowing my arms to sag in relaxation.
A hand grabs my arm and I almost jump out of my bones and scream bloody murder.
"Jesus! You scared me shitless!" I place my hand to my rapidly beating heart and scowl, a burst of annoyance flooding my chest as I struggle to catch my breath again.
"You're coming with me," he says, his eyes still a raging storm.
"Bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh bleh!" I mimic, using the same tone and forcing the same scowl and downturned mouth to emulate his facial expression. "What are you, a cop here to arrest me?"
"This is not a joking matter Parker. You are going to come with me right now or you will not like the consequences," he hisses through gritted teeth, his jaw muscles strained from tension.
I roll my eyes. "What consequences am I not going to like, Mr. Officer? Hm? What're you gonna do to me? Shoot me with your invisible gun? Gasp! Or maybe, you'll whip out your--What the fuck?"
Kade grabs my wrist in his iron-like grasp and begins dragging me towards a nearby door. He opens it and pushes me inside, flipping on the light switch and slamming the door behind him, locking it. I glance around, still gaping from shock, and note all mops, buckets, brooms, and cleaning supplies. I turn back to face him, scowling as I blaze with anger.
"Why are we locked in a janitor's closet?" I ask calmly, my voice lowered but wavering with rage.
He leans up against the door casually, crossing his arms over his chest. Of course, I am momentarily distracted by the bulging muscles and tan skin, admiring how his tight black shirt hugs his upper arms and torso. I observe that his normal black leather jacket is MIA.
"And where is your jacket?" I add, setting my books down on a nearby empty shelf.
His jaw is still clenched and his blue-green eyes are still dark. He speaks so softly, but with so much rage that a shiver travels up my spine. "We are not leaving this closet until you tell me what the hell happened and who the hell did that to you."
