My alarm went off causing me jerk out of bed and fall on floor. I groaned, what a nice way to start this morning. Taking my bath, I went downstairs to have breakfast when my phone started to ring. It Edna, but I couldn't pick up because I would feel guilty talking to her and knowing that my mate was the guy she had been in love with.

Pouring myself a bowl of Apple Jacks and filling it with a lot of milk, began eating it. She kept on calling and it pulled me back to reality because, I was constantly reminded of the fact that I'm mated to a ruthless guy and sooner or later everyone in my pack was going to find out about it so I turned my phone off.

After breakfast, I decided to watch episodes of the walking dead which I missed. My doorbell rang about an hour later, and getting up to open it, I was faced with the angry faces of both Edna and Lejla, oh boy.

"Why did you not pick up my calls?" Edna questioned me looking very furious. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying her eyes out I guess, she looked terrible. All I was hoping for was that no one had told her that Alpha Jordan was my mate.

"Sorry my battery died." I apologized dismissively.

"Are we just going to stand outside?" Lejla said as she walked right through the door and straight into the fridge to get herself a bowl of ice cream with Edna trailing behind her.

"What are you girls doing here?" I asked shutting the door and taking a seat opposite the couch they were both sitting. These girls were on an ice cream consumption mission because they both had a large bowl filled with ice cream on their lap.

"Since when did we need a reason to come to your house? Why didn't you come back to the party anyway?" Lejla asked as she grabbed the TV remote and started browsing through a list of movies on Netflix.

"My stomach began to hurt really bad on my way back to the Grande hall so I decided to come home. Why what happened?" I easily lied reaching out to grab Lejla's ice cream taking in a spoonful when she wasn't looking. I felt bad for not telling them the truth but I promised myself to tell them later on when my best friend wasn't looking as terrible as she looked.

"Nothing happened, Alpha Jordan was looking for you and he seemed miffed that you weren't there. He's not my mate but I'm cool with that and also, I overheard my dad telling your dad that he found his mate yesterday. No one seems to know who the girl is though." Edna replied with the sadness evident in her tone.

I felt bad for her but seriously do you fall deeply in love with a person you have never met before. I mean it's not like she was going to be single for life because she was yet to meet her mate.

"You don't have to pretend to be happy Edna. Look on the bright side though, you have yet to meet your mate who will love every inch of you. The girl who is mated to Alpha Jordan will have to struggle to get his love because he is incapable of love." I tried to comfort her.

My words to her made me realize how unlucky I was and how horrible my situation really was. I know I feel like I don't deserve a mate but never did I in a million years picture myself with one who has been cursed to never love anyone.

"Thanks for trying to make me feel better Leti but truth be told, I wanted him to be my mate that desperately." She replied, and all Lejla and I could do was nod. I felt at fault because I believed that if I wasn't there, he would have probably been her mate.

"Girl I love you and all if you ever touch my ice cream again. I'll personally kill you." She threatened playfully trying to make light of the situation.

Rolling my eyes at her comment I asked, "What are we watching anyway."

"Killing Daddy" Lejla replied.
