One month ago...

Phana POV

All the unmated, of aged men were gathered by the Moon Hunter in the town hall. Moon Hunter is the title given to the one in charge of handling affairs regarding the traditions of the island.

The present Moon Hunter, P'Kongpob, enter the hall and scanned the room. He stood at the podium and addressed everyone.

"The blessing of the Moon Goddess through our present vessel is expected to end within this month. We have known this since the early signs has been detected months ago. For this reason, we shall select a new vessel to renew the blessings of the Goddess to our island."

Murmurs and whispers echoed in the hall. I looked at Beam, Forth, and Ming simultaneously. Beam looking down at the floor. Forth sitting beside Beam while holding his hand. Ming simply observing the crowd. After a few moments, silence prevailed.

"Do we have a volunteer to be become the vessel?" The Moon Hunter asked.

Murmurs erupted again. I saw Beam tighten his hand to Forth's. I already expected what will happen next. But I was still in awe watching it.

"I'll do it Moon Hunter." Beam stood up and walked toward the podium. "I volunteer to be the next Moon Goddess vessel."

Present, at the Moon Goddess isle

Wayo POV

The ferry docked in the isle and all the people inside got off. I gave them a few head start before I followed them. No use sneaking in if I will be get caught easily right?

From the beach, there was a footpath leading to the forest. It's clean, obviously maintained. Are there people living here?

My suspicion was confirmed when I saw a small cottage in a clearing along our way. There was light inside and some livestock animals just beside it.

No doubt. Someone is living here.

I wanted to investigate more but the men I'm pursuing continued on their way. I will lose them if I stop on my tracks any longer. I'll just come back later.

I sprinted a bit and caught up with the group. Everyone entered a cave with me hot on their tail. There was light inside. Upon closer inspection, an illuminated platform was in the middle.

It's a shrine.

Not your usual design but I know, it's a shrine. A sort of cushioned altar is located at its center with sky overhead through an oval hole above it. I came closer to get a better view and hid behind a big stalagmite.

I saw my phis placed the palanquin carrying my brother on the other side of the platform. They then joined the others at the other side.

"Everyone settle down, we shall start the ritual." A young looking man barely older than my phis addressed everyone.

They sound the drums and sang some chants. I remember it as the songs that they teach us in primary school in the island. Why are they singing it here? Isn't just a folk song for children?

"Beam, are you ready?" He asked my brother. "You may start."

"Yes, P'Kongpob." P'Beam answered.

He opened the door of his palanquin and he emerged gracing everyone with his glistening skin. The see-through robe he was wearing uneffectively hiding anything. He was naked. Stark naked.

I heard the men grunt at the sight of him. Posh was right. He's a divine apparition, he may even be the Goddess herself.

P'Beam slowly approached the altar and settled on its cushioned top.

"Initiator! Come forward!" The man head the ritual shouted.

P'Pha stood up and approached the man. He was given a small flask. He went at the base of the platform and started stripping. He was alternating with his hands in holding the flask as he removed his vest and shorts.

I silently gasped at the view! My P'Pha is naked! Oh my gosh! He was on his back so I couldn't see his junior. What a waste!

He stepped onto the platform barefoot and beelined to my brother. He embraced him and took his robe off. He took a mouthful of the contents of the flask. And to my utter shock, P'Pha kissed P'Beam!

What the hell is going on here?! Why is the man of my dreams kissing my big brother?!
