WAYO POV
"Yes P'Pha. I just rode the ferry. See you in a bit." I ended the call and observed my home island in the distance. In less than an hour, I will be home again after five years.
After the ritual five years ago, P'Pha acted as my guardian at the behest of my big brother, P'Beam, as he fulfills his duty as the Moon Goddess vessel. Our island became more prosperous during this period and it did not suffer from any plague or violent natural disasters.
On my end, I finished high school and took my Teaching units to become a teacher. I just finished my trainee period and was ready to assume my post in the mainland when the news I've been waiting for arrived.
"P'Pha!" I excitedly shouted and jumped on my fiance when I saw him at the port. "I missed you!" I gave him a short kiss.
"I missed you too Shorty!" He rffled my hair while smiling. "Where are your things?"
"I shipped them earlier. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. It's too much hassle to carry them na."
"Why did you do that? I told you I can just fetch you at the mainland." P'Pha sulked.
"It's fine phi. Besides, we need to go to the townhall meeting now right?" I replied cheekily.
He just sighed and gave up arguing with me. Such a good husband! He knows when to not argue with his wife haha!
With that we drove off to the town hall meeting.
Few days later...
P'Forth greeted us by the makeshift pier in Moon Goddess Isle on our scheduled date of meeting with the retiring Moon Hunter and vessel. He then led us to their dwelling. The path to it did not change much over the years. Well I guess there's not much to change in this sacred ground anyway.
"Love! Our guests have arrived!" P'Forth shouted.
"Just a minute!" I heard P'Beam replied.
P'Forth motioned for us to sit at the couch. "I'll just get some refreshments. Just wait for Beam to come out and I'll be right back."
We nodded.
"I'm sorry for not welcoming you properly..." P'Beam came out while tying something in his clothes. "...maternity clothes seem to not fit anym---"
"Hi P'Beam!" I greeted him cheerfully.
"Hey Beam!" P'Pha greeted him too.
"W-wayo! P-phana! W-what are you doing here?" P'Beam stuttered.
We were both amused to see his surprised expression. Mission Accomplished! Haha! P'Pha and I shared a hand.
"Oh hi love. So I guess you met the new Moon Hunter and vessel?" P'Forth came back with some food and drinks.
"What?!" P'Beam exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell me?! Why am I hearing this now. Aw!" He touched his tummy.
The husband put down the tray and went to support his wife. "Easy! Shhh!"
"You!" My brother gave his husband a smack. "You knew that the next vessel is N'Yo and you didn't tell me!" and gave P'Forth another smack.
"Aw!!!! Sorry!" P'Forth went on his knees. "N'Wayo asked me to keep it from you so it will be a surprise. I thought it might cheer you up." His voice sounded like a wounded puppy.
I stifle a laugh with their antics. We know for certain who was in charge in this household. Haha!
"Forgive P'Forth na P'Beam." I sat beside my brother. "It's true. I wanted to really surprise you na phi."
