3rd Party POV
"...Are you in love with P'Beam?" Yo asked, traces of pain in his voice
"Yo... what are you..." Phana trailed off.
"Answer me!"
"Tone it down..." Phana sushed him. "The ritual is still going on."
"You're not answering my question phi." with disdain in Yo's voice.
"Yo..." Phana looked down. "This is not the proper venue to tell him this. But it seems I have no other choice." He thought.
Phana took a deep breath looked at the young Omega directly and said, "I was... I was in love with Beam."
Yo's face grew dark. He sank down to his knees, lowered his head, his heart throbbing in pain with his phi's admission.
"But not anymore..." Phana continued. Yo's looked up at the Alpha. "I'm not in love with Beam anymore."
Phana slowly walked to Yo and cupped the Omega's face. "Because I'm deeply in love with this young man in front of me...
I'm in love with you Baby Yo."
Phana POV
I said it. I finally said it. After years of just silently showing my love to him. I finally put them into words.
But to my surprise, he took my hands and swat them away. "Why Yo?" I wondered out loud.
"Don't lie to me phi."
"What? It's the truth baby."
"Lie!" His eyes now flooded with tears. "If you love me, why did you have sex with my brother?" he sobbed.
This is it. This is what Beam warned me about. Looking at it in person, Wayo is extremely devastated that I had sex with his brother. But I have faith in him... in us. I need to explain it to him now.
I placed my hands on his shoulders as he sobbed. "I did it for you."
"For me? You had sex with my brother because of me? What fucked up logic is that?" Wayo cursed in frustration.
"Shhh! Calm down. I'll explain everything." I invited him to sit beside me near the stalagmite. "I would need to tell you the whole story of our island's legend."
"You're familiar with the story right?" Wayo nodded. "But the version taught to the children is incomplete. So listen carefully, I will continue the story from what you know."
"After the Moon Goddess retreated to this island. The hunters in the then DeLaLuna island gained bounty and prosperity. No calamity has struck the island for a number of years. Until one day, all their tranquil lives were slowly degraded by tragedies one after the other. Famine, pestilence, violent storm, and a lot more.
Despair filled the island. They taught about leaving. But in one last desperate attempt, they decided to pray to the Moon Goddess to ask for her benevolence once more.
They set out for this island. When they arrived, they were aghast with what they found. The Moon Goddess weakened, life almost drained out of her. When they asked her what happened, she told them that it took most of her divine powers to ensure their safety and prosperity in the island.
The hunters fell on their knees and cried in pity for their Goddess. All this time, they were under her grace, yet they went there to ask her for more.
They want to save her, as repayment for her absolute benevolence. They inquired her if there is anything they could do to save her.
She hesitated for a bit. She knew such method but it will force her to return to the divine heavens. Feeling the sincere love of the hunters for her, she told them what was needed to do. They need to share their life essence with her.
