Life is great when you are not a pet but a free girl ready for your Calculus test that you're sure you're gonna nail.

Apparently the word was out that me and Luke 'Broke' up, I actually was scared that they might talk against Luke for cheating on me but reality begged to differ, most of the people said that Luke made a mistake dating a nobody like me and actually did a good thing cheating on me, and talked that I was just a slug that was sticking on him for his reputation or some shit..but they didn't know that I DONT CARE!!

I happily skipped to my locker cause those rumors did never bother me..I was just skimming through my notes when I felt someone stand in front of me and I saw that it was Luke and Candy.

"Hey Luke and Candy" I smiled at them and they both grimaced.

"It's Cindy" Cindy corrected..Oops! Did I say Candy? Oh god, that's embarrassing .

"Oh , I'm so sorry..I just got confused! I'm really sorry" I apologized feeling really stupid , Luke just grinned.

"So, pup.." He began but I raised my eyebrow at him.

"Oh yeah, no longer a puppy, Alex. Are you prepared for your test??" He asked , and my name sounded really good instead of a puppy.

"Oh yeah!! I am all set to kick that calculus ass" I pretended to throw a flying kick.

"Good" he laughed and they both walked away. And yes, they were the talk of the town, I mean talk of the school, the pretty smoking girl dating the hot guy of the school and they thought the faith in humanity was restored..well, I call bullshit on that crap..anybody can date anyone they like..be it popular or not!

DAYUMMMMMM!! The test was easy peasy , lemon squeezy!! Like seriously!! A week ago if you told me that I'd be able to get through this test with such an ease then I'd have punched you for mocking me but now I'd hug and congratulate you for being a psychic..

I was pretty much strutting in the cafeteria cause my test went really well and I was making my way to the table where Kate and Faye were when I heard someone call me and I saw that it was Luke.

I walked up to his table and Can- No, Cindy was there as well.

"Wassup Luke, Cindy??" I asked smiling wide.

"Soooo, how did the test go??" Luke was concerned , I could tell.

"I nailed it!!" I sang. And he put his hand out for a high-five and I didn't let him hanging and high-fived him back and good lord he had one huge hand.

"Cool! I am an amazing tutor!!" He smirked.

"That you are, Luke, the math genius" I laughed back and I could see that Cindy was trying get his attention but he kept laughing at my remark and I could feel the irritation that she felt with my presence, so to avoid the tension I decided to leave.

"Okay, so I'll go, I'll let you guys do your thang" I said.

"Did you just say 'thang'?" Luke asked laughing hard.

"Yeah, dude! Saying 'thang' is the new thing!!" I defended.

"Yeahhhhh" he shook his head.

"It is" I pouted.

"Sure, you're so cute when you pout, puppy" he teased and I could feel Cindy glaring at me and I had to go.

"Okay, bye ! Gotta go" and I walked away before Cindy killed me with her stares.

And yes, Kate and Faye asked me tons of question of why I was still talking to Luke after he supposedly cheated on me, but I just shrugged it off and told them that we moved past it and that it was never too serious and they bought it! Cha-Ching! I could be a con-artist with such sleazy moves.

Rest of the classes were the same old same pain in the ass and after the last bell I was just so happy to go home. I was gonna wait for Luke to walk home cause from the day we started this pretending drama we walked home together but I decided not to, cause I was pretty sure that he would go back with Cindy. So , I just made my way out when I heard some one call my name and I turned around to see Luke running towards me.

"Alex, wait up!! Why didn't you wait for me??" Luke asked ran towards me.

"Well, I thought you'd go home with Candy, I mean Cindy! Damn I always mess it up"

"Nah, I'm walking home with you" he smiled.

"And Cindy? You know she doesn't like me right?? You should go with her!" I explained.

"She likes you, and she said she'd go home herself" he shrugged.

"Idiot, you're suppose to insist!"

"Well Luke Hemmings doesn't insist, if you want, you come and get it" he grinned.

"So conceited!" I muttered to which he just laughed.

"Anyways, there is this party at Ashton's today, you wanna come?" He asked as we walked home.

"Nah, I don't do parties" I shook my head.

"You don't do parties or is it you've never been to a party before?!! " he smirked.

"Yeah, I've never been to a party but I'm not ashamed of it! I haven't been to a party or don't get invited to one, Big whoop" I said irritated.

"Fine, well you're invited now, I'll get you your first high school party experience , I'll guide you through it"

"Fine, where is it?" I asked looking up at him.

"Don't worry I'll pick you up, be ready at 7" he explained.

"Kay, so you'll be picking Cindy up and then you'll come get me?" I kicked a pebble .

"Nope, Cindy will be there herself , she said..so I'll just pick you up" he just shrugged it off so coolly.

"Dude!! You always pick your girlfriend up, Kay? She already hates me!" I sighed.

"She doesn't hate you! And she said that she'd come herself ,so be it!"

"Fine! See you at 7" I walked towards my home.

"See ya, wear something nice" he winked.

"I'll try!!" I smiled back.
