Chapter 4

P.O.V. Caroline

*Recap

"No! I'm not leaving him." She said angry.

"It's okay." The boy grunted. Marcel pulled Davina away from him, and held her head in his chest as she cried and I kneeled next to the boy.

"Here, drink this." I said as I unscrewed the cap to the bottle and lifted his head as I put the bottle to his lips. He slowly drank it then he grabbed the bottle and, drank as fast as he could.

"You should rest. You had a really bad bite." I said as I took the bottle from him.

"Thank you." He whispered his voice raspy.

"You're welcome." I smiled, and stood then Davina ran over to his side hugging him.

"Easy." I said as he grunted, then I was tackled into a hug by Davina.

"Thank you! I owe you." She said as she sat beside who was now sitting up.

"It's okay. I know what it feels like to be bitten." I laughed.

"Really? Who bit you?" Josh asked curious.

"My ex-boyfriend who was compelled to do it. Then Klaus himself." I said laughing at their awed expressions.

"How did you survive?" A girl from the crowd asked.

"She has her ways. Isn't that right?" Marcel laughed.

"Yes, it is. Now, I believe someone owes me an apology." I smiled victoriously as I looked to see Elijah smiling.

"You were right. I'm sorry." Elijah said smiling.

"That's alright." I laughed.

"Did you make a deal with him?" Josh asked worried.

"You need to rest. Everything will be fine." I said.

"No." He said as he tried to stand almost falling, but I ran and caught him just in time. I laid him down across the couch shaking my head.

"I will be fine. Go to sleep." I said.

"Stay with him. Make sure he gets some rest. I'll check on him in a little while." I said walking out of the room and outside.

"Are you all right?" Marcel asked as I was leaning on my car with my head down looking at the car.

"Fine. Is he sleeping?" I asked.

"Yeah. Thank you. Whatever deal you made with Klaus to get his blood I'll help you with it. You saved my family." He said sincerely.

"The only deal we made was he wants to eventually meet my friend, Suzie." I laughed.

"Haha." He laughed beside me, then Elijah stood in front of us making me squeal glaring at him.

"What did you tell my brother?" Elijah asked.

"I asked for his blood." I laughed. That laugh was cut short as I was pinned to the building with his hands around my throat.

"Elijah! Get off of her!" Marcel yelled as Elijah's grip tightened only loosening when Marcel lunged at him, and was thrown backwards.

"El-li-jah." I stuttered as I tried to breath. Then around fifteen people were at Marcel's side.

"Tell me what you told my brother. If you don't I will kill them." Elijah threatened then dropped me on the ground while I gasped for air. One of Marcel's men ran towards us trying to help me only to be thrown backwards.

"I told him I came here to start over, and instead my friend Suzie was bit. So I asked for his blood, and he gave it to me. Now leave them alone." I said as I stood up slowly.

"Make this mistake again and I'll rip your heart from your chest." Was the last thing I heard as he ran towards me.

"Ugh!" I grunted as I grabbed my neck sitting up. I looked to my side to see Davina sleeping with Josh at her side. I looked down and noticed I was in a large bed with a brown comforter.

"Are you alright? I heard you wake up." Marcel asked as he stood on the other side of the bed beside me.

"No. I hate getting my neck snapped. Will you help me up?" I asked whispering. He picked me up bridal style slowly and then swooshed out of the room sitting me down on the couch where Josh was earlier, while he sat beside me.

"What happened after he snapped my neck?" I asked.

"Some of my men tried to fight him off. He snapped their necks. No one was killed." He said, and I sighed in relief.

"Thank goodness. What were Josh, and Davina doing?" I asked curiously.

"Davina wanted to wait until you woke up. Josh wouldn't leave her side." He said smiling.

"Why?" I asked confused.

"You saved her best friends life, and you tried to save everyone else. Josh was just returning the favor." He said as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

"I told them that they owe me nothing. Why would they still stand by my side?" I asked curious.

"I have a community of vampires, and Davina, she's a witch. We're all family. We stay by our family's side." He said.

"But, I'm not family." I said confused.

"You said you wanted to start over. Join us." He said. Just as I was about to answer I heard something in the other room drop then scurrying feet.
