"You guys do know that sharing a water bottle can give you meningococcal?" Sabrina said proudly, chewing a mouthful of salad with a certain dislike.

Cassie slowly lowered Rachel's water bottle away from her lips and set down on the grass beside her.

"Oh, yeah? And where did you stubble across this vital piece of information?" Chloe asked, glaring at Sabrina sitting beside her.

"Google," she replied, shortly.

"A lot of stuff on Google is a load of shit," I added, but knowing Sabrina for as long as I have, you know to never challenge her, unless you're me.

"That's my mother's blog you're calling a load of shit," she snapped.

Sabrina's mother runs an 'extremely successful' health blog. Which she pretty much blogs about the stupidest 'health' issues on the Internet. I guess that's what takes up most of Sabrina's brain; all the crap that her mum rambles on about constantly and well, the rest... I'll never know.

"Well, it's true. So if you don't believe me or my mother then you have some serious trust issues."

Chloe and I share a glance and both roll our eyes.

"She's so full of it," Rachel said.

"Tell me about it," I replied, flopping on to my bed, holding my phone tightly against my ear.

"The way she treats Cassie is terrible," Rachel sighed.

"There's only a month and a half until we graduate. Hopefully she will survive until graduation and then Cass will never have to see her again."

"I do hope you're right."

"Grace!" My mother's voice floated upstairs. "Stop running up your phone bill and come down here!"

"Sorry, Rach. I've got to go."

"Yeah, same. I was using talking to you as an excuse to not start my homework."

"Wow. I feel so loved," I said sarcastically, rolling on to my back.

"Grace!" My mother yelled.

I covered the receiver with my hand and replied, "coming, Mum!" Before returning to my conversation with Rachel. "See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow. You still want a ride?"

"Yes please!" I chimed.

After saying my final goodbyes to Rachel, I hurried downstairs, slightly slipping on the staircase thanks to the fuzzy pink socks on my feet. My eyes scanning the bookshop from my advantage point to look for my Mum. I found her hidden behind a stack of fifteen or so books on the serving desk.

"Yes, mother?" I asked, resting my chin I top of the pile of books.

"I would really appreciate it if you don't call me that. I called you down here because I need so help with choosing the Book of the Week. But I can't exactly do that right now, so would you kindly move?" She asked.

"Sorry."

"So for thriller I'm thinking Gone Girl. Then teen fiction The Fault in Our Stars..." Mum continued to rattle off her ideas, not really listening completely to her, but nodding every time she mentioned a book title.

After deciding the Books of the Week and placing them on display in the front window. I realised it was nearly eleven o'clock at night.

"Goodnight, Mum," I mumbled to Mum, who had moved to her own bedroom to read.

"Night, sweetheart," Mum replied. "I love you."

"I love you, too," I replied, before dragging my tired body back to my bedroom.

I literally fell into bed, my eyelids already half closed. I lay for a moment, trying to get comfortable before allowing myself to fall completely asleep.
