Chapter 41- Preparations

Marinette's POV

So a lot has happened over these past few weeks, so much that I don't even know where to start. Let's start with the fact that we're having a winter dance this year! And that Alya and Chloe are planning the whole thing! Yeah, crazy I know! This helped them bond and become good friends which is great. 

Now onto bigger news...James may finally be out of the picture. Chloe went over to his house and voice recorded him admitting that he was behind why Nath got injured. Immediately she went to the police and showed them the recording. Long story short, James is in juvie. So we can finally put all this drama behind us.

Currently, Alya, Chloe, and I are hanging out in my room discussing the theme of the dance.

"How about Winter Wonderland?" Chloe spoke.

"Nah too, cliche," Alya responded.

"Yeah, you're right I'm running out of ideas here..." Chloe chuckled.

"Any suggestions Marinette?" Alya asked.

"Hmm... how about... a masquerade ball?" I suggested.

Chloe gasped, "Mari, that's a great idea! What do you think Alya?"

"That actually sounds like it could work." Alya agreed.

"So it's settled we have a theme ladies!" Chloe exclaimed.

~A few weeks later~

For the past weeks, the girls have been over to my house after school to organize the details of the dance.

"Any music suggestions?" Alya asked.

"I could ask Jagged Stone to perform a few songs and we could get Nino to DJ for the rest of the dance if it's okay with him." I spoke.

"I think it'll be fine with him. He's been working on a few mixes so, he'll probably be excited to play them at the dance."

"Alright, next on the list is food, drinks, and decorations." Chloe spoke.

"I got that covered! My parents and I will bake enough goods for everyone. And for drinks, we could get some fruit punch or something."

"That sounds great! As for decorations, I was thinking maybe hanging fairy-lights and have like some floating lanterns. We could add more off of that or if you guys have any ideas, let's hear them." Clo added.

"Oh I really the sound of that, with the soft lighting sounds perfect!" Alya replied.

"Yeah, it sounds amazing." I agreed.

"Now. Onto the most important thing....our dresses!!!"

For the next few days, we focused on our dresses since we planned out the majority of the dance which would be held at Chloe's house. Currently, I was working on the final sketches for our dresses before I started sewing. 

Today, I'm going shopping with the girls to have them pick the color and material for their dresses which should be fun. I heard the doorbell ring as I rushed down the stairs to put on my shoes. I opened the door not forgetting my keys and closed the door behind me. "Hey, guys!"

"Hey, Mari." They said at the same time.

"Are you guys excited, cause I am?!" I exclaimed. 

Alya chuckled at my excitement, "Yeah, it should be fun."

Chloe hummed in agreement as I led them to my favorite fabric store.
