I snuggled into the scarf I was wearing as I walked down the road to the school. The scratchy wool tickled my neck as I breathed in its scent, tickling my nose as well.

"So..." I muttered to myself as the scene with Jellal replayed in my head. "Is it considered a date? No...I'm just helping him study. But it should be considered a date...I don't know anymore!" I threw my hands up in exasperation, which led to a couple to stare at me, along with everyone else in the vicinity.

Embarrassed, I hurried to get back to school, but the wind picked up and I was almost blown away by a passing ambulance, with the loudest sirens and the speed like a jet plane. Staggering back to balance, I ran across the street to the front heard of the school and had the same ambulance miss me by a fraction.

"Jeez," I straightened my ruffled-up school uniform. And started walking back inside the building...only to have a horde of students file out and trample me to death under their feet.

I pushed my way through the storm, but I was distracted by the chatter and gossip from everyone else. I stopped abruptly when I heard the name "Jellal", but I dismissed it as a breath of wind. I must be going crazy. But then I heard it again. Midst the chatter and shouts of me pushing through them, I went closer to the person who was talking. It was Gray. He was talking on the phone, arguing with someone, probably Natsu.

"Gray," surprised, he quickly closed his phone and shoved it into his pocket. "Do you know who was in the ambulance?"

"I was just talking with Gajeel about it," he pointed to the phone. He's in the hospital because of a friend and just happened to see someone at school get rushed to the emergency room.

My heart skipped a beat. Ambulances driving toward the place where I just left. It can't be... "Does he know?" I tried to keep my voice leveled.

"Yeah," he checked his watch. It was almost time for him to go to the grave site, but he needed to rush to class to get some materials first. "His name was Jelly or something like that... Erza are you okay?"

He looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Yeah," I finally managed to sputter out. "I'm fine." But I really wasn't. It felt like my insides were being torn out and burned. My heart impaled with a lance of ice.

"Well," his voice was uncertain. "Okay. I know that you aren't okay, but I need to go now. Just call if you're having trouble or if you just need to talk." I nodded, tears brimming my eyes.

"Thanks," but it was swallowed in the crowd and Gray was already gone. I ran back outside. Gray clouds started to roll in from the blue horizon. The pitter patter of rain was slowly becoming more frequent. I ran back to the ice cream shop and asked the lady what hospital the man was directed to. Before she can finish her sentence, I was out the door.

Jellal, just hang in there.

Jellal P.O.V.

What the fuck is going on? Right after something good happens to me after this cyclone of messes and worries, I just get sucked into a bigger and badder one.

The last thing I remember feeling was the cold concrete against my skin, and the dull wailing of shouts and ambulances. I felt like I was in a dreamy state, where I can perceive what's going on, but I can't move or talk. Then, I just blacked out.

I woke up to monitor beeps and stabs of pain all over my body. I felt as if I was in a torture chamber. Everything was blurry at first, but I saw a nurse walk across my hospital room and slowly draw the curtains, which illuminated the shadows. When she saw me in my bewildered state, she smiled and gestured over to a tray of food. I tried saying a thank-you, but the words couldn't seem to come out of my mouth. I was only able to give a small nod of thanks, but her name tag flashed as she walked out. Milliana, huh.

I tried hoisting myself up to a sitting position, but the pain was too great. It felt as if there was a gigantic metal anvil pressing down on my body. I tried shifting around to a more comfortable position, but there was a big figure at the foot of the bed who kept the sheets pressed down. Wait. Has that thing been here the whole time? I nudged it with a not-so-gentle kick and it woke up. Messy-haired and with dry drool painted on her face.
It was Erza.

"Um," I tried to think of something to say. "Are you alright?"

"Yep," she muttered in her half-sleepy state. "The kitten was saved from the fire."

"Erza...?" I was taken aback at first because of her comment, but then it became hard to hold back my laughter.

"Wait..." Erza started slapping herself awake, and she realized the situation she was in. "Oh my God did I do something stupid?"

"Yep," I chuckled, and to make things more interesting, I said another witty comment. "You drool when you sleep."

Erza, immediately getting the reference, replied with, "Shut up, Jelly Brain."

But our merriment was cut short when the nurse from before, Milliana, and two doctors opened the door and came in with grim expressions on their faces.

"We have something to say," one of the doctors say. "And it's not good news."

{Well that took quite a while! I'm sorry for the delay (yet again). Honestly, there's really nothing else to say except that you guys have helped out so much with this fanfic! 4K! Wow I feel really special. But thank you guys and GaLe is next~. Also, comment if you got the reference, since I know some of you will get it.}
