Ashlyn's povOnce all of my homework is done, including the mandatory reading of The Scarlet Letter, I lay down on my bed and close my eyes.
Its almost four o'clock and I'm in a good slumber when the doorbell rings. I grumbly remove my cover half asleep and head out my room, down the stairs.
This better be good.
I slowly make it to the door and peek through the peephole. No one seems to be outside, so I open the door very carefully, checking my surroundings.
And then I look down.
I cannot believe what I am seeing.
There is a big box sitting right in front of my door and on top of the box is a heart shaped box of chocolates and a huge bouquet of beautiful red roses. I kneel down on the porch and pick the roses up, taking a deep breath in and then setting them aside.
I will make sure to put those in a vase.
And then I noticed the note with my name beautifully written across the top. I pick it up, and even though it is only a few words, I feel the smile spread across my face.
Even though I shouldnt be so happy.
Ashlyn, come with me to homecoming? Please?
Love, Cameron.
I just stare at the note in disbelief, waiting for someone to come out from behind the bushes and tell me that Im being punk'd, but no one comes.
I move the chocolates aside, resisting the urge to open it and eat one, and then look down at the box. Carefully taking the bow off of the box and opening it. Whats inside shocks me more than anything.
A dress.
My dress.
The dress I've dreamed of wearing. The dress that Cameron said I should buy. I couldn't buy it bc I was too big.
And here it is in grip of my hands. I let out a sigh.
It's red velvet mid-thigh dress. Long sleeves and a small turtle neck.
I pick it up and turn around, fangirling slightly at the color.
Oh it is beautiful.
And it is mine.
Oh Cameron, why you do things like these? Leaving me dumbfounded.
I decide that maybe going won't be so bad.
~~~~~~I take my time getting ready. I make sure that my hair is perfect and straight in place exactly how it should be, and my makeup takes no longer because I just go for a matching red eye makeup and a light pink lipgloss.
The dress hugged my curves perfectly. Showing the just right amount of skin. I paired the dress with black and gold heels.
It takes me a good three hours to get ready so it is almost 7:30 by the time I finish.
7:30. Oh boy.
I just realized that Cameron and Aspen both asked me to homecoming. I'm so dumb. How can I forget.
Ughh.
I decide to text Cameron that I would meet him at the dance.
