A Strange New World

Discovery

After what seemed like hours, I discover a shallow cave that has immense overgrowth covering the entrance. After looking around the area, I decide to settle down here. I wander in and begin making a fire. A hole in the ceiling proved to be great for letting the smoke outside. Afterward, I prepare the bedding and use some delicate stalks I gathered to cover some large rocks for chairs. A flat rock proved to be a great place to work upon. Finally, settling in, I have dinner and go to bed. Resting in my cot, I begin to fall asleep.

Earth has been destroyed. The very few survivors have all met their doom. Kyra...
I am almost at my end, but you...
You are the last hope. I am launching you into space. You will go into the Cyrochamber, and will not come out until the ship reaches its destinstion. You most likely have amnesia as you are not properally trained for such extended sleep, but that is fine. You will have items to help you recover your memories. Once at the planet, you will be ejected from the ship in your cyrochamber pod. Good luck. Help humanity by surviving.
Farewell my daughter....

I woke up with a start. It was daytime. That dream.... Was it a memory? Deciding to get up, I began to walk out to wash in the nearby river.
After stripping down, I step into the icy water and begining scrubbing. Suddenly, I hear the unmistable sound of footsteps.
I freeze listening carefully.
Suddenly, a person stumbles out...  They stare at me for a few seconds, which gives me just enough to grab my sharpened knife and lunge at them.
Pinning them to the ground, with my blade at their throat, I realize that whoever they are, one thing is certain:
They are sh*t at combat.
They simply stare at me like a deer caught in the headlights. I rise, deciding that it would be pathetic to continue this confrantion.
"What is your name?" I ask instead.
" A-Alex." They stutter.
" I am Kyra. I assume you have little knowledge in basic survival?" I respond.
