Eleven, who was in a punk outfit, walked through the door. She had a nosebleed, hair gelled down, black makeup, a black jacket and some jeans.
I covered my mouth, and tears started to fall.
"Eleven," mike said, his voice shaky.
"Mike," El said, and they hugged.
"Is that..." Max said.
Lucas and Dustin and I nodded.
"I never gave up on you," Mike said, breaking up the hug, his voice quivering. "I called you every night. Every night for--"
"353 days." El interrupted with a soft smile. "I heard."
"Why didn't you tell me you were there?" He asked. "That you were okay?"
"Because I wouldn't let her," Hopper said, grabbing our attentions.
He hid Eleven?
"The hell is this? Where you been?" He said.
"Where have you been?" She answered sassily.
Hopper was then hugging El with one arm, but a stern look on his face.
"You've been hiding her," Mike said. "You've been hidinf her this whole time!" He said, raising his voice, shoving Hop.
"Hey!" Hopper said. "Let's talk. Alone."
They then went to another room, but I was still astounded that one of my best, best, friends, was standing in the room after a year.
El went in and hugged Lucas and Dustin first.
"We missed you," Lucas said.
"I missed you too," She responded.
"We talked about you pretty much every day," Dustin said.
"They're not wrong," I said, with my face that I could 95% guaranteed red.
They pulled apart.
She looked at Dustin, gave him a weird face, and stuck her finger in his mouth, poking it around.
"Teeth," She said.
"What?"
"You have teeth," She concluded.
Dustin grinned the happiest grinned, as if saying; SHE NOTICED. Then he said: "Oh. You like these pearls?" HE said, adding a weird ass purr on the end.
El slightly jumped, backing away a half step. Lucas gave him this weird look that said: "Why?"
El then moved onto me. She smiled, and so did I, and we dove in for a hug.
"I missed you so much," I said, my breath shaky.
"I missed you too," She said. "You're the only girl I've ever met," She said, pulling away with a smile.
I smiled back.
"Eleven?" Max said, noticing who she was. Max walked up to her. "Hey. Um, I'm Max," She said, stretching her hand out. "I've heard a lot about you."
El just pushed past her.
What?
She just went to Joyce, instead.
"Hey, hey, sweetheart!" Joyce said, hugging El tightly. "Hey," She said, with a huge mom smile.
"Can I see him?" El asked, obviously talking about Will.
Joyce sighed, and led her to his room.
I grabbed a tissue for my face.
"Man, you sure cry a lot." Dustin stated. I glared at him.
"I am a human child who has emotions too, Dustin." I said, wiping my face. "Aren't girls allowed to cry?"
Lucas then grabbed the whole box of tissues and gave them to me.
"You really are right," Lucas whispered to Dustin, unaware that I heard him.
I grabbed a tissue and whacked his elbow.
"Hey!" He said, rubbing the spot where I just hit him.
"I heard that," I said, and blew my nose.
Then, after I finished cleaning my face, we decided to see what El and Joyce were talking about.
They were next to Will.
"Do you think if we got you back there, that you could close it?" I heard Joyce ask.
El just looked at her.
-
"It's not like it was before, it's grown." Hopper said. We were all gathered around the main table, figuring out what to do. "A lot. And, I mean, that's considering we can get in there. The place is crawling with those dogs."
"Demo-dogs," Dustin corrected.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm sorry, what?" Hop asked.
"I said, uh, demodogs. Like, demogorgon and dogs, like, you put them together, it sounds pretty badass--"
"How is this important right now?" Hop butted in.
"He's got a point," I said.
"It's not, I'm sorry." Dustin said sheepishly.
"I can do it." El said.
We all looked at her.
"You're not hearing me." Hop said.
"I'm hearing you. I can do it."
"Even if El can, there's still another problem." Mike said. "If the brain dies, the body dies."
"I thought that was the whole point," Max said.
"It is, but... But we're really right about this... I mean, if El closes the gate and kills the mind flayer's army..."
"Will's a part of that army." Lucas finished.
"Closing the gate will kill him." Mike said.
My jaw dropped slowly.
No. No!
Will can't die.
He can't.
He can't!
