The loud rumble of an engine woke me up in the middle of the night. I slowly got up out of bed and hurried to my window only to note our car speeding away down the road. I heard rushed footsteps and knew it was Sam which was all I needed to spurn me into action. I quickly grabbed a hoodie, threw on a pair of sneakers and ran out the door, despite being in short sleep shorts.

"Sam!" I called to my adoptive brother who paused and glanced back at me.

"No time! Someone's stealing our car!" He shouted before jumping on his bike and started pedaling off towards in the direction the car thieves went. I groaned and took off after him, not bothering with a bike. I was able to keep up relatively well and clearly heard Sam shouting into his phone.

We followed the car into an abandoned junkyard where Sam bolted behind a line of oil drums. I ran and slid next to him as he was taking his phone out, pointing it in front of us. I followed his gaze only to freeze, instead of our car stood a large robotic being who shot a beam into the sky. "W-what is that?!" I whisper shouted. Sam shrugged and hit record on his phone.

I snapped out of my daze and smacked his arm, "Sam! Do you know what people would do if they found whatever the hell that thing is?!" I scolded. He looked down and I glared at him, causing him to lower his phone. I sighed and spared another glance towards the robot and noted it didn't seem hostile. "Sam, I don't think it means anyone harm. If it did, it would have done something to us by now." I whispered and he hummed.

Curiosity taking over, we crept forward to get closer to the car, robot, thing...when we heard barking. We froze and I looked over to see two big dogs jumping up and starting to run towards us. "Run! Run!" I shouted and we took off. We ran towards an area that had cloth flaps and raced to the barrels in the middle. Sam jumped up onto then but I was a little too slow. I heard a loud bark and then pain shot up my leg, causing me to let out a scream of pain.

Our car suddenly came bursting in, scaring the dogs away, and Sam helped me up next to him. The Camaro was doing donuts around where we were standing and Sam was freaking out. "I don't want the car, take the keys I don't want it!" He shouted, tossing the keys into the car.

Sam jumped down and I did too but immediately fell to my knees. When I picked myself back up, I limped out to see police officers holding Sam at gun point. "Hands where I can see them!" One shouted and I froze, lifting my hands in the air.

Sam glanced back at me and I shrugged. "We didn't do anything officers." I tried to reason but they weren't having it.

"Put your hands on the hood of the car punks!" The other shouted. I sighed and we slowly approached the car, placing our hands on it. Sam slammed his head down and I rolled my eyes before almost falling when one of the officers roughly grabbed my arms and cuffed them behind my back.

"Really? What the hell did you two do?" Was the first words out of our dad's mouth when he got down to the station. Sam and I simply slumped down in our chairs in defeat.

"Look, I can't be as clear as crystal clear as I'm being, the car just stood up." Sam repeated, as he had been for the last few hours. I groaned and leaned my head back, wanting to be back in my bed.

"It just stood up huh? Alright you two, fill em up." The officer in front of us sighed, handing us two cup. I raised a brow and refused to move.

"We aren't on drugs!" Sam complained. I nodded in agreement and our dad shook his head from his spot.

"Then why were these in your pocket?" The cop behind us tossed a bottle of pill to the one in front of us and read the label. "Mojo..mo-jo. Is that what the kids doing these days. Been smoking whippets, goofballs? A little wowie-sauce with the boys?" He raised a brow.
