As we were driving, my vision kept going foggy and my leg was throbbing. After I had shifted for the 20th time in the last 10 minutes, Optimus finally spoke up. "Are you ok (f/n)?" His baritone voice came through the radio.
I leaned my head back and shut my eyes with a sigh. Not feeling the need to lie, I answered him honestly, "Not really."
"You should have went with Ratchet and had him check you out." Optimus sighed, the a/c releasing a small wind gust.
I smiled a little at the phrasing and before I could think about it, words escaped my mouth. "Not to be rude but he's not really my type." I replied. I mentally smacked myself for it immediately and blamed it on being concussed.
"Pardon?" Optimus questioned, clearly confused. I snickered a little at the innocence this bot seemed to exhibit. "Did I say something wrong?" He prodded and I shook my head with a small chuckle.
"No no. I wasn't thinking before I spoke. It was my poor attempt at a joke." I smiled and leaned my head against the window.
Optimus hummed before replying, "I still do not understand the meaning behind what you said (f/n)."
I ran a hand down my face with a sigh and glanced over towards the radio. "Don't worry about it." I gave a slight assuring smile and Optimus commented nothing further.
It wasn't until we were almost home that I heard him hum. I raised a brow and glanced towards the radio. "I understand it now." He stated out of the blue. I furrowed my brows in confusion, causing him to continue. "The joke...I understand the meaning behind it."
I mouthed an 'oh' before chuckling. "Ever so curious are we?" I smiled but got no response. Shaking my head with a smile, I watched as we pulled into an alley behind our house.
I slowly got out of Optimus' cab, dropping onto my feet only to wince. "Give me five minuets, I'll go get the glasses. (F/n), Mikaela, make sure they don't do anything stupid." Sam pleaded before bolting off.
"They're giant robots...what the hell is a tiny, concussed, injured human supposed to do to stop them?" I murmured before groaning, realizing that I still needed to change the bandages around my calf. Mikaela sent me a concerned glance and I waved her off.
A dizzy spell hit me so stabilized myself by leaning on my hand atop Optimus' fender. I noticed Ratchet backing up to be near us before his voice echoed in the alleyway. "(F/n)...do you mind if I scan over you to ensure your health?" I sighed but nodded.
I felt Prime shift and I removed my hand from him allowing him to transform along with the others, except Ratchet. The back doors to the hummer opened and I stepped in while Mikaela ran after the other bots. I sat down on the gurney there as a green light shot out and scanned me. A sharp tingle shot through me, making me jolt in surprise.
"Is something wrong?" Ratchet asked and I shook my head.
"Just felt a weird tingle run through me."
He hummed but didn't say anything and I sighed, leaning my head into my hand. I was starting to get annoyed with the autobots and their mysterious humming. "You have a mild concussion but other than that you check out fine. I'm sure you know about the laceration on your calf. Just make sure you keep it clean." He finally spoke and I nodded.
He made a sound as if to say something further but no words came from him. I huffed and stood up, moving to get out from the back of his vehicle mode. I heard Mikaela whisper shout for me and I quickly made my way over to where I figured she was.
Mikaela was standing in front of the flower bushes and motioned me over. "What's up?" I tilted my head once I got in front of her.
"Optimus is gonna give us a boost up to help Sam." She whispered and I shrugged. I turned slightly and suddenly a big metal hand was near the ground in front of me. Mikaela hopped on but I hesitated for a moment before feeling a slight nudge in the back. I mentally groaned and accepted Mikaela's outstretched hand as she pulled me up.
