Y/N'S POV

I looked at Stanley's curls as we rode through the wind. They were pushing back enough to see his forehead. Jeez, he looked really nice. Wow. I remembered the band aid on my head from the first day I met Stanley. He noticed me looking at him and smiled. "You look nice today Y/N," He said and I blushed immensely. "T-Thanks," I mumbled.
I wonder if he liked me. No, he could never. The slut of the school would never be liked by someone so caring.

We rode past the ice cream shop, the arcade, and the kissing bridge. "H-Have you ever k-k-kissed anyone at the k-k-kissing bridge S-Stanley?"
He blushed. "No, I haven't even had my first kiss yet." "R-Really? I-I can't say anything because I-I haven't either. I-I heard this k-k-kissing bridge is the best p-place to have your first k-k-kiss though. I-I want m-mine to be t-there," I mumbled.

We locked eyes after I said that. He was about to say something, but we pulled into my house. "I-I should start di-dinner before my d-dad noticed I-I was gone," I said looking at his fidgeting hands. "Y-Yeah, you should."

I noticed the red on his hands and walked over to him. I grabbed his hands and saw blood coming out where some nail imprints are. I looked up at him with sadness in my eyes. "W-What hap-happened?" "Oh, that, mm nothing," He said putting his hands behind his back. I pulled them around from behind him, he was resisting but I needed to see what was wrong.

STANLEY'S POV

Y/N was trying to pull my hands out from behind my back. I was worried she would find out I was jealous of whatever she did to Mr. Keene but I melted into the warmness in her eyes. "W-What di-did you d-do?" She asked for the last time.
"My fist was just too tight. I just didn't notice." She looked at me and she looked worried. "Fine, I was mad that you did that to Mr. Keene." She looked hurt.

"No, No, I meant, ugh um, I was upset you put yourself out there for us. You didn't look comfortable and I couldn't stand it, I didn't even notice I was gripping so hard." Y/N gave me a small smile.
"I-I pro-promise that I-I won't wo-worry you again," She said with the light in her eyes twinkling.

She balled my fists together and brought them close to her face, I could feel her heart beating and her warm breath on my knuckles. She gave them a light kiss and then brought me into a tight hug. Her arms were wrapped around my waist and my chin was on top of her head.

"I-I should g-go," She said slowly pulling away from me. "I will call you! If you um want me to," I said hesitantly. Her head jerked up when she was walking towards her front door. "My dad ri-ripped m-m-my ph-phone out of the w-wall rem-remember?" She said with sadness.
"Oh yeah sorry," I saw her eyes with deep hurt from the mention of her dad. "Well, the club and Beverly are going to the quarry together at 12 pm if you want to join us. You can tell your dad you are going to have a sleepover with Beverly if you want. I am sure she wouldn't mind and neither would your dad if he thought you were hanging out with a girl."

Y/N gave me a small smile. "I-I will tr-try it. Ho-Hopefully I-I can make i-it. B-Bye St-Stanley." She winked at me before closing the door behind her. I couldn't stop thinking about her smile and that wink from the time she did it to when my dad opened the front door to our house.

TIME SKIP - STANLEY'S POV

The table was cold when I touched it with my shaking hands. My father was eating his dinner peacefully. I was scared to ask him to even stay over at Beverly's house.

"D-Daddy?" I said, almost reaching to cover my mouth. "What baby?" He growled, food still in his mouth. I took a deep breath and continued my sentence, "B-Bev asked me if I-I wanted to sl-sleepover at her h-house to-tomorrow. S-She came o-over while you were at w-w-work and asked m-me. I-I told her I-I couldn't make a d-decision without as-asking you." I sucked in a tight breath. I had never talked so much and so fast in front of my father.

His eyes flashed up from his fork that had food on it. He did a little laugh and took a bite off his fork. "You can bunny," He looked at me again but with more serious eyes, "But if I figure out you guys were talking to boys, it won't be good for either of you. Remember, I work with her dad."

I nodded quickly staring back at my food. He did a little sniffle again and continued to eat.

TIME SKIP

My dad was tucked safely under the blanket on the couch after his usual 4 beers. I tiptoed quietly into his office, praying he didn't hear me. I saw the bright red phone on the desk and reached for it, putting the numbers to Beverly's apartment. The phone rang and I prayed.

BEVERLY'S POV

The phone rang in the kitchen. I walked swiftly to it, looking out the window, making sure my dad's car was back from the market yet.

"Hello?" I softly said in the phone. "U-Um, hi, t-this is Y/N."

"Oh hey Y/N," A little louder this time. "O-Ok, problem.  I-I needed to t-tell my d-d-dad I-I was spending the n-night with you, for m-me to go to t-the quarry with e-everyone," Y/N's voice muffled through the phone.
"Okay, that's easy. I will tell my dad I am spending the night with you and we can just go somewhere else." I heard her breath against the phone. "O-Ok, th-thanks Bev."
"Bye Y/N," I said my hand grazing the phone hearing my dad's car pull into the apartment driveway. "B-Bye Bev."
