Walking into school on Monday is something that I never want to do.

Yet here I am.

Getting out of my warm, cozy, comfy bed was an absolute chore. A hard chore. A soul sucking chore.

I find my way to my locker and punch my combination in just before April attacks me in a hug. "I brought coffeeeee!" She sings

My annoyance for all of her Monday morning energy dissipates at the mention of coffee. I turn around and greedily snatch the cup from her hand before taking a huge gulp.

Yuck.

I have to force myself to swallow with a grimace.

"What is this?"

She smirks, "that's my drink. This is your drink." She hands me my cup and takes hers back. I hesitantly take a sip and angels sing when the glorious coffee meets my tastebuds.

Mmm.

"Okay well I have to go study for my math test this morning. I'll see you later." She chirps.

Why is she so happy? She needs to not be so happy. It's Monday.

"Well don't you look like a ray of sunshine?"

I continue to organize the books in my locker at the sound of Will. "Ray of sunshine is my middle name y'know."

He snorts. "I would've never guessed."

I stop organizing my books and turn to him. "Did you need something?" After I finish my sentence I realize that could've been taken in a rude way. It's just the early Monday morning speaking. Not me. I need one of those shirts that says 'I'm sorry for what I said when it was Monday'.

I use the time to take in his appearance. His black hoodie was really working for him. While it wasn't exactly tight, it was definitely defining his strong chest and muscled arms. Paired with his fitted jeans and black vans, he looked basically like a model.

Stop it Katelynn, you're friends.

I'm just appreciating what is right in front of me. I think about how hot Peyton and April are all the time.

Good point. Ogle away.

"You're good at math right? There's just this part that I'm struggling a little with."

"What's the concept?"

He scratches the back of his head and looks down towards the floor. "Polynomials."

"Polynomials? But that's just review. We learned that like sophomore year." I furrow my brows and continue to sort out my locker.

"I know. I kinda struggled with it before and my teacher is reviewing it with us now but he's not very good at it. I need him to start from square one with it but since everyone else is still caught up with it he hasn't taken the time." He explains.

I nod my head in understanding and turn my body towards him, noticing the close proximity. The girl that owns the locker two lockers down showed up causing Will to shuffle towards me a little more to give her full access to her locker.

"So...you need my help?" I ask.

He slowly nods. "I was hoping that you could help me today. Since he's letting me retake the quiz on Polynomials tomorrow."

"Okay, did you want to meet in the library during lunch?"

"How about after practices? You can come over to mine."
