"Hotel said they could only get us two beds, so someone's going on the couch," Jaxon announced as we entered our room for the night, "Unless you wanna snuggle.""You're joking now, Jax, but we all know you're the little spoon," Beck laughed, "I'll be on the couch."
I went in the shower to wash away all the dirt and bad memories from the day. As safe as I felt with the guys, the back of my mind was always scared that one day I won't notice the pill and I'll take a drink before someone can stop me. It would never get much further that that, the guys wouldn't let me leave their sight, but I never want to be in as much of a state as that guy was, barely able to even stand or form words.
I towel dried my hair slightly, then pleated it so it would be curly when I woke up, then I slipped into black silk pyjama shorts and a matching vest top.
I tossed and turned for most of the night, unable to sleep. Jaxon snored softly in the bed next to mine. I got up out of bed and went through to the living area of the hotel room. Beck wasn't asleep either, lying across the sofa wearing just gray sweatpants, watching some dumb movie on tv.
"Hey," He said quietly as he saw me standing there, "Can't sleep either, huh?"
"Nope," I flopped down next to him on the couch, "I'm just overthinking everything, I guess."
He sat up and pulled me into a hug.
"I know we target dickheads," He mumbled, "But that guy was the BIGGEST dickhead I think we've come across, I think he committed all seven deadly sins in the hour we were there."
"Lust is the obvious one, wrath against Jaxon, greed against his wife..." I started to list them, "He said he wasn't married, he just liked wearing it, but I don't believe him. Guess we'll find out at the gold shop tomorrow."
"Or we keep it and go have a shotgun wedding in Vegas?" He jokingly raised an eyebrow, "It's only like a 4 hour drive away."
I laughed, "I don't think a ring made for his ugly hands would fit yours."
"Are you calling my hands ugly?"
"Noo, you have nice hands, I meant they're too nice for a ring worn by such an ugly, disgusting man."
"Uh huh, I was almost gonna cancel the wedding, there."
"You guys were gonna get married without me?" Jaxon pretended to pout, leaning against the door frame.
"I thought you were asleep?"
"Not anymore, your laughing woke me up."
"Well, we're not getting married anymore, either. She called my hands ugly!"
"No I didn't!" I protested, tears of laughter at his mock offence rolling down my cheeks.
"Why are you up anyway?" Jaxon asked, "It's 3am."
"Neither of us can sleep," Beck explained.
"Well, you know what that calls for?"
"Is it whiskey?"
"It's whiskey."

We were all lying on the floor, laughing our asses off, pretty drunk. I yawned, stretching out my arms. Finally, I'd be able to sleep.
"Right, I have an idea," Jaxon announced, "How about we take some of the watch money and have a break for a couple days? Rent out a villa in back in Vegas, visit my mom, have our own private pool, and just relax for a little bit."
"That, my friend, sounds amazing," I smiled at the thought, "But you'll need to figure out a way to get it all in your account without being suspicious."
"I have a buddy nearby that can launder it for us," He smirked, "In fact, he'll probably just buy it from us, he has a thing for watches."
"Let's do it!" Beck nodded.
"But first, sleep!" I yawned again.
"Agreed," Jaxon said, getting up and heading back into the bedroom.
Beck picked me up and held me over one of his shoulders. He took me through to the bedroom and dropped me on the bed.
"Goodnight, shitheads," He said, walking back out the room, "Hope the bedbugs bite your asses."
