The next day, I headed over to my friend, Michael's, house for band practice. We had been working on our band, named 5 Seconds of Summer, for a few months now. It consisted of me, Michael, Calum, and Ashton. We weren't the best band, but we were definitely improving.
I arrived at Michael's house, which I had never been to before. Since I didn't know him well enough to just walk in, I rang the door bell and his mom, Karen I think her name was, opened the door.
"Hi Mrs. Clifford." I smiled.
"Hi, Lucas, come on in." She welcomed me.
"The boys are practicing down in the basement, as you can probably already hear them!" She said, closing the front door behind me.
"Okay, thank you." I said as she directed me to the basement.
"Luke!" Ashton giggled.
"Hey man." I nodded.
"We didn't really start practice yet, so you didn't miss anything." Michael said, picking up his guitar.
We played through a few songs: Disconnected, Heartbreakgirl, and Out of my Limit.
"Those sounded pretty good, especially the bass. I'm really killin it today." Calum smirked.
"Don't be so cocky." I laughed, even though I know Calum was just kidding around.
"Guys, I'm hungry." Michael complained.
"We literally just ate lunch not even 2 hours ago." Ash rolled his eyes.
"I know, but I'm a growing boy, I need my food." Michael explained, putting down his turquoise colored guitar. That guitar was so cool, I was always jealous of it.
"You know, now that you said that, I'm hungry too." I put my hand over my stomach. I realized I hadn't eaten anything today since I woke up super late.
"Let's go get pizza." Michael said.
We all agreed on pizza, because how could someone ever turn down a slice of pizza?!
We walked up the stairs from the basement, onto the first floor.
"Hey mom, we're gonna go get pizza." Michael told his mom.
"Alright." She responded.
We walked down the small hallway to leave Michael's house when I accidentally bumped into someone walking down the other side of the hall.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I said. Then I locked eyes with a familiar face.
"Luke?!" She rose her eyebrows.
"Alex?" I was thrown off guard.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
I bit my lip, "I'm getting pizza with Michael, I'm in his band."
The other boys were standing at the door, just watching what was taking place.
Michael quickly walked towards us and pulled me away, "C'mon Luke." He tugged on my sleeve.
"I'll text you later." Alex rolled her eyes.
That was really confusing. I wasn't really sure what just happened or why Michael was so persistent on leave so quickly.
