NEW POINT OF VIEW YAY :)
---------------
Alex's P.O.V.
Later that night, I was under the covers of my bed when I decided to text Luke. I had seen him, out of nowhere, at my house earlier today.
"Hey. So what were you doing at my house earlier :)" I texted him.
L: I was there for band practice.
A: Oh. I knew about Michael's band, I just didn't know who was in it.
L: Yeah, why were you there?
A: Um haha I sorta live there!
L: You live with Michael?
A: He's my brother, unfortunately.
L: Really? Michael mentioned once or twice that he had a brother and a sister, but he never explained who they were so that why I didn't know.
A: Michael acts like he doesn't like me, but he's so protective over me.
L: I'm sure he cares about you. It's Michael after all.
We had texted back and forth a few more times that night when I decided that I wanted to ask him to hang out again. Luke was so sweet and I was so happy he went to NYU with me yesterday.
A: This is out out the blue, but you wanna hang out tomorrow if you're not busy?
I waited a few more minutes, but there was no response.
Was I too clingy? Maybe he didn't really want to spend time with me and he was only being nice.
Finally, what seemed like much longer than it probably was, Luke responded.
L: Yeah, that would be great! Where do you wanna go? :-)
A: How about you just come over to my house tomorrow night?
L: Sure! Thanks, see you then :-)
I sighed, relieved he said yes.
I had no idea why I was getting so excited about him coming over tomorrow. We had just met about a month ago, and between texting him a lot and the few times we had hung out, we were becoming closer and it was really nice. Most of my other friends had gone off to college, so it was nice to have Luke around to keep my company.
------The next day------
I heard a knock at the door, figuring it was Luke, I jumped off the couch and walked over to the door.
Sure enough, there was the tall dork staring in the door frame.
"Hey!" He smiled.
"Hi." I blushed. Luke was dressed casually, but he still looked stunning in a Green Day shirt, ripped black skinny jeans, and some all black converse.
"I was just in the middle of Anchorman. Wanna finish watching it with me?" I asked.
"Yes! I love Anchorman. It's such a dumb movie, but I never get tired of it." Luke followed me into the living room where was sat down close to each other on the couch.
"Wait, I'll be right back." I quickly got up and ran over to the kitchen, grabbing a bag of Twizzlers.
"Of course." He laughed once he saw the Twizzlers.
We sat kind of close to one another on the couch, just eating our Twizzlers and enjoying the "I love lamp" scene in Anchorman.
But I don't think Luke was really paying attention. The entire time me was looking at me. I could tell me was trying to be secretive about it, but it wasn't working.
"Stop looking at me, Hemmo!" I hit him lightly.
"I wasn't.... Why would I-" Luke stuttered.
"You are officially the world's worst liar. And I'm only teasing."I smiled.
He smirked back at me.
"But seriously, I hate people looking at me." I rolled my eyes.
"What? But you're gorgeous." Luke quickly sat up and his face turned redder than my brother's hair.
"What?!" I asked, thrown off guard by his compliment.
"I said you're gorgeous, do you not like that either?" He smiled.
"I would like it, if that were true." I sighed.
"Are you joking? You're joking, Alex. Are you calling yourself ugly?" He looked panicked.
"Well, yeah pretty much. But whatever, we're missing the movie and my favorite part is coming up!" I tried to change the subject. I didn't take compliments every well, mostly because I felt like people only every said them to give me sympathy or to pretend to be nice.
Luke grabbed the remote and paused the movie.
"What did you do that for?!" I looked at Luke, who was now closer to me on the couch.
"Okay, we need to get something straight. I can't deal with a pretty girl like you walking around calling herself ugly." Luke began his rant.
"Luke stop-" my heart was pounding faster and faster.
"No. I can't believe you don't see it. It's obvious. Whenever we're out in public together, people stare at you, and I don't blame them." He almost looked mad at me.
"That's not true. I have a weird smile, a hideous nose, and I have bad skin to top it all off." I explained. I hated picking myself apart like this, but I was used to being disappointed every time I looked in the mirror.
"You have pretty hair, a really cute nose, and your smile is one of my favorite things about you. You're fucking drop dead gorgeous." Luke's cheeks were rosier now.
No one had ever complimented me like this before, not even my family. And the best part was, I could tell Luke wasn't just saying this stuff.
My heart was still racing a thousand times a minute and I honestly don't know what got into me when I leaned in and kissed him.
