Stiles

Since we found out that a kanima is supposed to be a werewolf but can't fully transform 'until it resolves that in its past which manifested it', we've been trying to figure out what happened to Jackson's parents. Allison was going to talk to Jackson about it, and since Scott had a make-up test for chemistry he needed to do, I was supposed to ask Lydia if she knew anything.

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone," she said after I'd asked her at the end of Econ.

"Come on," I pleaded, following her out of the classroom. "Anyone who ever says 'I'm not supposed to tell anyone' is always dying to tell someone, so tell me!"

"Why do you wanna know?" she asked, continuing her walk down the corridor

"I can't tell you that," I said.

"Then I'm not telling you," she said, stopping briefly to look at me before starting to walk again.

"But you are telling me that you could tell me something if you wanted to tell me?"

Lydia frowned. "Was that a question?" she asked.

"It felt like a question," I said honestly, though I felt a bit unsure of it now.

"Well, tell me if this feels like an answer: No." She started walking faster.

"Lydia!" I called out as she reached the stairs. "Lydia, come on! Ly- wait!" But she was gone.

Before I even had the time to finish sighing in disappointment, I felt someone push me up against the nearest wall. A hand was pressed against my chest, and I felt claws press against it as well.

"Ow, aha, hey Erica-"

"Why are you asking Lydia about Jackson's real parents?" Erica asked, looking at me as if I had been doing something suspicious. As if, I would never.

"Why are you bringing out the claws on camera?" I rebutted, nodding my head towards the security camera pointed right at us. Upon seeing it, she pulled her hand away, retracting her claws. "That's right, you wanna play Catwoman? I'll be your Batman." I walked away from her.

"If you're wondering about Jackson's real parents, they're about half a mile from here." I froze. "In Beacon Hills Cemetery."

"Okay- wait! Wait, wait wait, wait," I called out after Erica. After just dropping that bomb on me, she just walked away - probably for dramatic effect. Must be a werewolf thing. "Do you know how they died?"

"Maybe. If you tell me why you're so interested."

I opened my mouth, trying to come up with a lie that would make sense, when Erica suddenly stopped walking.

"It's him, isn't it?" she said.

"What? Who?" I tried to play dumb, hoping she hadn't just figured it out. "Him who?"

"The test didn't work but it's still him. It's Jackson."

Fuck.

"You can't tell Derek, okay?" I told her as we walked around the corner into the corridor for the boy's locker room. "There's a lot more to this that you don't know about. And just because you got the alpha-bite-makeover doesn't give you a license to go around destroying people."

"Why not?" said Erica, turning around to face me. "That's all anybody ever used to do to me."

As she talked my eyes drifted down to the floor. A puddle of water had formed from a small stream streaming under the door of the locker room. Where did that come from?

"I used to have the worst crush in the world on you. Yeah, you, Stiles. And you never once even noticed me. Exactly how you're not noticing me right now."

Just then - the door burst open and two bodies fell down on the floor in front of us. It was Scott and Jackson, and they were fighting rather aggressively. That explained the water on the floor.

"What the hell is going on?!" a voice bellowed from behind me. I Iooked behind my shoulder and saw Mr. Harris sprinting towards the fight. "Hey! Enough! Enough! What do you idiots think you're doing? Jackson! Calm down. Mr. McCall, you wanna explain yourself? Stilinski?"

I opened my mouth but closed it immediately after, as I realized I actually had no idea what had been going on.

"You and you - actually - all of you. Detention, three o'clock."

Later that day, as I was walking through the halls to detention, I felt someone push me up the wall next to me with incredible strength. It was Valerie, her blue eyes were blazing with fury.

"Ow! Why's everyone doing that to me?"

Valerie ignored my question. "Stay away from her, Bilinski," she growled, pressing her forearm into me even harder. If I didn't know any better, I'd say she was even stronger than Erica.

"From who?" I asked, but Valerie ignored me again.

"You know, I was really confused at first, but then I saw you talking about her, and it all made sense. The new clothes, the makeup, everything."

"Wha- are you talking about Erica?"

"Don't play dumb with me, Stilinski," she growled. "She doesn't need to change for anyone- much less for you. If I see you talking to her again I will not hesitate to rip your arms off and beat you up with them."

And with that sweet sentiment, Valerie let me go and walked off.
