Chapter 14:
Back to the beginning of the day, before Agatha and Sophie's minor drama....
Tedros had entered class, prepared to have a jolly old time. He hadn't had the greatest of days so far, so he wanted to let all his feelings out. He always found the best way to do that was to try to hack someone's head off with a sword.
He was not prepared for a lecture. Tedros felt antsy as Professor Espada introduced himself and began talking about Sword Class. He would never say it out loud, but sometimes he just wanted to shout, 'Professor to please shut up and get on with it!'
"Welcome to Swordplay and Weapons Training Class, also known as Sword Class, horrible name by the way," Professor Espada said. "In this class I will teach you more then just swordsmanship, but also the use and art of other weaponry and strategy. In a battle, swords are not always the best and right option. A prince or a hero should be able to have a variety of skills they can put to use on the battlefield and when defending yourself or loved ones. Today I will be examining how advanced you are using a sword, and the following lessons will be taught according to so.
"Some of you may be atrocious at this, and some of you will exceed far beyond my expectations. Have no fear, for you are only here to learn. I have turned the wimpiest of princes to the mightest of kings! I'm sure I can teach you all a thing or two about swords...."
Sometime later during his speech, someone came up from behind Tedros.
"Hi," they whispered in his ear. Tedros jumped, suppressing a loud yelp. He turned around to see the young Ally Parkinson with her signature smirk plastered on her face.
"What are you doing here?" he hissed. "Aren't you supposed to be in that class where you put on makeup?" Ally put her hands on her hips, white swan pin glittering.
"You don't have to be so rude about it," she piqued. "Besides, I already told you I'd see you in Sword Class."
"I didn't think you were serious," Tedros vexed. Ally gave him a pointed look.
"I'm always serious," she said in a low voice, her brown eyes cutting into his blue ones. "Always."
Tedros discreetly took a step away from Ally. She seemed like a trustworthy person, but Tedros was a little freaked out by her whole demeanor. Sometimes she was so excited, squealing about, and other times her entire face glazed over, as if she had witnessed everything thousands of times and wasn't exactly impressed.
A few minutes later, Ally walked over to the front of the group, waving her hand in the air to get the professor's attention. Tedros watched curiously as Ally handed the professor a sheet of paper. Professor Espada frowned as he read it. Ally exchanged a few words with him, and soon she was merrily skipping back over to Tedros.
"What in the world did you tell him?" Tedros asked. Ally shrugged.
"I just told him what I knew I would tell him."
"Is that explanation supposed to make any sense?"
Ally paused for a moment, looking upwards as if pondering on his question deeply. "No," she replied bluntly. "It's really not." The two turned their attention back to the professor.
