Chapter 35

Carter POV
After three days of staying with my old friend from school I came back. I walked into the apartment and went in my room. Five minuets later there's a knock on my door. I don't answer. They open the door and walk in.

"Where have you been" cam says
" I needed a break "
"From what"
"Idk, I just need away" I say getting frustrated why would he even give a shit?
"Okay well you need to get your stuff out of Jessica's room." He says

"Jess is moving in?" I say
"Yeah so clear it out" he says well leaving my room.

I played a video game then laid down. I got hungry so I went into the kitchen. I was looking through the fridge when I hear this laugh that I've haven't heard in years. It was Kaylee. She was happy. Kaylee. I slipped into the bathroom since it was right by the kitchen so she wouldn't see me. She didn't need to see me.
"I can't believe you" Kaylee says
"You acually did it" laughs Megan
"Dude you said do it for the vine, so I did it" Jessica says
They all laugh.

"Hey that movie was long I got to wazz"Megan says walking toward me.

She sees me and looks at Kaylee and then she shuts the door to the bathroom and stars at me.

"Where where you? Kaylee had a melt down. You weren't even here. She needed you and I couldn't do anything." She's lightly screaming at me so they wouldn't hear her.
I struggle to get the words out of my mouth but I do
" I went to my friends to try and help Kaylee."
"You think that seriously would help her. When you know what she goes through" she raises her voice.
"No." I cry
"Carter she needed you and you weren't there" Megan says again
"I know"
"Then why'd you leave?"

I wipe the tears away and look at her.
"Because."I say
"Because why!" She says

"BECAUSE I TOLD HER I LOVED HER" I scream.

The door opens slowly and Kaylee is standing there. Confused. She looks at me and I can tell she is going to cry. There's this look in her eyes. Its the look I've become so familiar with. I see it in her eyes everyday. Megan walks out and it's just me and Kaylee looking at each other. Maybe for the last time...

She looks down at her feet,
"I'm so sorry."she says
a tear forms in my eye.

I start to say that it was okay but I was interrupted.
"Carter, I just didn't tell you how I felt back because I can't hurt anyone else with my problems."

"You wouldn't hurt me. Not even if you tried." I correct her

She looks up and a tear falls from her left eye.
" can we just be friends carter."another tear falls.

I then start to feel a thousand pounds drop in my chest.
"Yeah. Kaylee it's okay. Everything is okay. It's going to be okay." I assure her.

But I knew nothing would be okay. In reality Kaylee would still be depressed and I Would help her everytime she will become sad.

In reality I won't stop loving her. Even if she kills me, she's be the only one that I would want to kill
Me. I love her but she, she doesn't love me back.
