Darcy's POV

I reach there, my heart pounding against my rib cage. I always dreamed of coming here. I stand there looking at the gate on which the words 'Lawrence university' are engraved. My brother pats my back. my father is unloading my belongings, most of them books. I finally made it to my dream university.

I take a deep breath and enter the gates. A fresh pang of adrenaline rushes through my body. I look around the campus and my jaw drops. the campus is huge. there is a huge medieval looking fountain surrounded by trees. there are four buildings connected at the first two levels. It is basically three times the size of my high school- and believe me my high school is pretty big. but the most amazing part about the university is the lake about five minutes from the campus.

there is a huge cafeteria at the end of the building from where I can see tables and chairs laid out in the lawn

I look at the main building from where i would be picking my dorm number. i see many people who are saying goodbyes. I take my suitcase with me and make my way through the thick crowd which has gathered there. as I look back, Will holds my wrist. I look at him. He has a smile on his face. I frown.

"Going to go alone Dar?" He asks, smiling.

"Yes i am Will. I am seventeen and I can certainly go alone" I say putting up a forced smile.

"I am coming with you little sister."

"No you're not big brother." I say imitating him.

It is really annoying when someone calls you little sister. I look at him, his handsome features. and dark, black hair which he inherited from his father. his one sided dimple, the same as mine- deep and prominent when we smile. I roll my eyes. and an understanding passes between us. I nod at him and he smiles back.

Together we head towards the main building. It is a long way before we reach the office in the main building. there is a long line outside the office. A nervous looking short red headed boy biting his nails, with similar looking woman standing beside him. A girl with dark complexion who has her arms crossed is standing behind them. by her looks, she is clearly annoyed. a boy and a girl standing behind her. something tells me they are a couple. Then an elder looking woman as curious as everyone. Then it is our chance. will stands outside.

when I enter the room, there are five tables in a row. I go further until I find a empty table. There is a man or a professor in his mid-fifties with silver rimmed spectacles. He gestures me to sit in front of him.

"You will be miss-"

"Mcfield. Darcy Mcfield." I answer.

"So miss Mcfield, what all subjects will you be taking this semester?"

"Literature, law, humanities, history."

"That's really impressive."

"Thank you, sir."

"Well, wait a minute miss Mcfield. It may take a while there are a lot of freshmen and allotting rooms is a messy task." He says without taking his eyes off his computer.

"Ah." he adjusts his spectacles on his nose and gives me a sheet of paper on which my room number is printed and thrusts it into my hand.

"That will be it miss Mcfield."

I stand and leave the room. Will stands adjacent to the office tapping his foot impatiently.

"What a mess." I say looking at the crowd gathered all around us.

"yeah. Didn't even have a foots place to stand. anyway what is your dorm number?"

"don't know. didn't see it. The man was taking a lot of time."

He pulls the sheet from my hand and I snatch it back. I look at it...
