Ethan's POV
"Congratulations, Ethan. It is a pleasure to offer you this promotion. You have earned it through hard work and dedication. I couldn't have found a better candidate for the position. I'm so glad you put your name forward."
I lean In to shake my boss's hand. "Thank you so much. I promise I won't let you down, sir."
"I know you won't. I have full faith in you, Ethan. Now go and have a few drinks to celebrate. But be fresh for Monday morning." He chuckles as he releases my hand and opens his office door for me to leave.
"Thank you. Have a good weekend, sir."
I'm calm and collected despite the promotion I just received as I step into the familiar hustle and bustle of the street. They say New York never sleeps, but I'm pretty sure London is up there with insomnia too. Thunder rolls in the distance, the air becomes sticky. The clouds above are not looking very inviting.
Walking to my Audi A1 parked down the street. I'm so lost in thought I almost don't hear my phone ring in my inside jacket pocket. My brother's face lights up on the screen as I answer. "Hello," I say over the line.
"Ethan, I have wonderful news." This worries me as Greyson is never this excited about anything.
"Friends of mine from work got VIP's to that new club in Liverpool Street, and I already told Shelby you would come so I won't be taking no for an answer."
I only ponder this for a moment before answering. "Sounds good, and since I have an actual reason to celebrate."
"Cool so....wait what are you celebrating"? he asks, confused.
"I took the promotion!" I say rounding the corner to the parking garage before deciding to put my car keys back into my pocket and hailing the black cab that was driving towards me. Tonight, I was drinking and not driving. I'll pick her up in the morning.
"What, are you kidding me, congratulations bro, I knew you would get it!" He says so loudly I pull the phone away from my ear, chuckling.
"I'll meet you guys there; I'm just getting into a cab."
"Awesome, see you then," he replies, hanging up.
"Where am I taking you to mate?" The cab driver is looking back in his rearview mirror towards me.
"Nomads nightclub in Liverpool Street, please."
"Nice. Just take a couple there funnily enough. Looks nice for the outside."
I smile, not one for interacting and getting into full-blown conversations with cab drivers.
He pulls into the busy street. Raindrops start to fall on the windshield; the whistle of the wind sounds outside as the wind picks up.

My sister's green eyes and freckled face light up as I walk up to the entrance of the Nomads night club. People lined up around the building makes me thankful for the VIP's.
"I'm so proud of you, Amore." My sister says as she brings me into a hug. Her hair is tickling my nose. I scrunch my face at the nickname she gave me after becoming best friends with an Italian she met when we were children. With myself being the eldest, I often wonder if she looks up to me. I wonder if I have been the father figure in her life since our father walked out on us when we were younger.
My brother approaches from behind me, bear-hugging me, catching me unaware. "Here, he is. Mr. Big-shot himself."
"Hey, bro!" He releases me and turns me around towards him, pulling me into his embrace. "Congratulations, bro." Patting my back a couple of times before releasing his hold. "Let's go and get this party started!"
