Ethan's POV
5:30 am
My alarm clock reads this ungodly hour as I lean over and hit the snooze button. Not my usual wake up time, but today was special.
I stay awake for the length of my 'snooze time' and brave the chill from outside the warmth of my bedsheets - one of my bare feet making contact with the cold wooden flooring.
After forcing myself up to sit on the edge of my bed, I reach over and turn my alarm off. I wouldn't need that going off again.
I decided I should head out to the gym early this morning. My plan of going after meeting with Mia yesterday not going to plan as I had an afternoon of paperwork thrown on my desk.
It didn't help trying to get through work after hearing that Shelby was right on the phone on Monday evening. The fact that Mia was engaged confirmed by Mia herself during our coffee yesterday morning. How did I miss the engagement ring on her finger?
This changed nothing; I was a man who always got what he wanted. Not handed to me on a plate either, the majority of my life, I have fought for the things I wanted. The job I now have came with years of hard work and dedication. I was never put off due to a challenge, no matter how hard I had to work for it.
Now dressed and in my gym clothing, I grabbed my morning smoothie from the refrigerator, grabbed my car keys, and made my way to the car.
I could probably fit an hour's workout, which would give me enough time to come back, shower, and get ready for work.

7:45 amI was checking myself out in the mirror, one final time. My black tailored suit, hanging from my frame perfectly. Pulling my black tie up in to place around my neck, making the necessary adjustments, so it sat at my top button properly.
Leaning over and grabbing the black bottle of Tom Ford, Black Orchid from my huge array of fragrances. I loved this scent, reminded me of sex. Women seemed to fall at my feet whenever I wear this fragrance. I just hoped that it would have the same effect on Mia today.
I can't remember the last time I felt this nervous going to work. Almost as nerve-racking as meeting a client, trying to close off a deal. But this was different; I can't explain the feeling in my stomach other than it is a good feeling.
As I headed back to my car, my phone began to ring. 'Greyson.'
"Good morning, little brother."
"Someone's cheery today. Did you get some last night? Who is she? I need all the details." His response, like a child who had consumed far too many sweets.
I laugh at his questioning. "No, no lady friend to speak of today. It has just been a very productive morning." I pull the car door open and slide myself in, connecting the call to my Bluetooth as I start the engine up.
"Okay. Anyway, Mia starts today, right? You owe me one for this brother. Sending my future girlfriend to your workplace is a stroke of genius. Don't you think?"
I couldn't bring up the fact that Mia was engaged. I couldn't break his heart this early in the morning. And I also couldn't allow him to sense that I too, was pining for her attention.
