I BLAME MY POWER TO PERCEIVE
The Cid

I blame my power to perceive
For taking away the thing
I almost called
My greatest blessing;
For losing all I used to have,
I blame my power to perceive.

It includes
A massive amount of my grit
To start over after every sacrifice,
With my nerve to be called
As illiterate for being rigid─
Which I still think is nice.

I am disgusted
By those who depend
Based only on what has been shown,
And with that,
I blame my power to perceive.

I refuse to be manipulated
By modern technology.

I hate being forced
To be who I don't want to be.

I blame my power to perceive
For making me omit my propriety,
For disconnecting me from my peers
To uncover reality.

I am an iconic tree!
I live with prestige,
And inflexible proficiency!

I will languish with a smile─
Pleased,
With the feeling
Of being well-grounded,
Proving my loyalty to my words
Until my last breath.

I had a good life,
And I have nothing to blame
But my power to perceive.
