The Plan

“Hey Finny!” Finny turned from his trimming to see Sam hiding in some of the bushes of the garden. Ever since she and Lily destroyed Sebastian’s leaf pile, they had banned from the manor. That lasted for a week. Then Lily dropped by to ask Ciel a question, to which Sebastian escorted her out. Finny couldn’t help but be curious and so he answered Sam instead of ignoring her like he was supposed to.

“Hey! What’s up?” Sam quickly glanced around, and he unconsciously mirrored her action. “Sebastian’s not here. He’s making dinner.”

“Mhmm! That sounds delicious! I bet Lily's talking to him.” She pulled herself from the bushes and brushed herself off. “Well, anyways, what do you think about pumpkins?”

“Pumpkins? What about them?” Finny asked. Of course he knew about pumpkins. He was the gardener, after all. Even if he destroyed the plants more than grew them, he still knew the names.

“How do you feel about Jack-O-Lanterns?” Sam asked slyly. Finny caught on to her idea, and smiled brightly.

“Let’s go pumpkin picking!” He shouted. Sam quickly shushed him.

“Hold on, it’s a little more complicated than that. Lily and I are gonna need lots of pumpkins for this operation we’re doing. Then once we sneak the pumpkins in here, we’re all going to carve them. The thing is, Sebastian isn’t going to be in on this plan, right? So we need to be real sneaky about this.”

“Oooh! I don’t know if we can do that. Sebastian knows everything!” Finny gasped wide-eyed. Sam laughed.

“Don’t worry, we have Ciel on our side, along with Lily. They can keep him busy. How do you think I’m standing here?” Sam pointed out. Finny thought for a moment and agreed.

            “Alright, I’m in!” He shouted.

“Cool! I’ll let you know the plan sooner or later. See ya!” And with that, she ran back into the bushes. Not even a minute after she did, Finny heard Sebastian calling for him.

“Huh, I guess she was right. Oh well!” He hummed to himself as he left the bushes untrimmed to see Sebastian.
