“Are you sure we’re not going overboard? Bart asked. In front of him and Sebastian were ten large attack dogs, drooling and waiting for a command.

“You have to agree, this has been ridiculous and needs to be fixed. Otherwise I fear the young master will go crazy if this continues. Now, we’ll have two in the front of entrance hall guarding that area, two on each waterfront and four in the house. They’ve already been introduced to everyone here, so they won’t attack any of us. Now let’s get them in place.” With that, they separated with their assigned dogs

LATER

“Are the dogs all placed?” Ciel questioned with his head on his desk. This whole month had been crazy, crazier, than usual. Frankly, he was tired, but the suspected culprits weren’t answering any of his attempts of contact. So now he had to resort to this dangerous plan.

“Yes, my lord.” Sebastian bowed happily. He couldn’t wait to catch whoever was ruining his job.

“Very good. Now for the waiting part. And this time, make sure none of us get in the way.” Ciel ordered. After Sebastian bowed and affirmed his duty, Ciel yawned and closed his eyes.

LATER

“Sebastian, where are the dogs?” Ciel asked walking into the kitchen. The butler paused in his stirring of the pumpkin soup and turned.

            “Out in their positions. Right?”

“Nope. I just walked around the whole yard with Finny and they were nowhere to be seen. So where are they?” Ciel scowled. Sebastian only shrugged at him. “If you don’t know, then go find them.”

“What about dinner, bocchan?” Sebastian asked with mock concern as he stirred the soup.

            “It can burn.”

“Very well.” Sebastian smiled lightly. Then he left the child in the kitchen and rushed through the grounds. “Hmmm…where could they be?” True to Ciel’s word, the dogs were nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, that left the question of where they were. “I guess we’re having another meeting.” Soon he had gathered the other servants and Ciel into the boy’s office.

“Does anyone know where the dogs are?” Ciel asked. They all shook their head. “Who was the last to see them?” Bart raised his hand.

“I only saw them when I put the into place this morning. Then I was in the kitchen for the rest of the day.” He puffed out smoke as Sebastian agreed with him.

“I saw them right after lunch, when I was trimming the bushes.” Finny said with a finger on his chin.

“Two of the dogs were watching me clean the stair railing for a while at around…3 I think.” Mey Rin pushed her glasses up her nose.

“Hmm…so that means that Mey Rin was the last person to see them. And that was three hours ago. Something must have happened without us knowing. Let’s search everywhere again and meet back here.”

LATER

“They’re still nowhere to be found?” Ciel questioned. They all shook their head. Sigh, “Well then…I guess we have to go through the cameras and see what’s been going on.” Mey Rin interrupted his plan.
