I roll out of bed, sighing. I hate waking up, I hate Mondays. And most of all I hate school. I have to see Jay again.
I go into my closet and slip on a flannel, leggings and my Converse. Still don't have any combat boots.
I grab my JS and head downstairs.
"Dylan!" Chuck waddles out of his room and hugs my legs.
"Hey, Bud." I smile as I pat his head.
"Where are you going?" He asks with the world's biggest grin.
"To school." I frown and shake my head. "Speaking of which I have to go, but I'll see you when I'm done." I hug him and walk to the kitchen.
"Good morning!" Zach yells in my ear.
"I am not in the mood, in fact I am thinking about cutting your face off." I threaten.
"Woah, okay." He puts his hands up in defenese.
"Sorry, its just I have to see Jay again. And I don't want to see him especially now that I know he told the other gang about me." I put my elbows on my counter, then put my head in my hands.
"I can talk to him with you, if you prefer." He offers.
"That would be-Actually, that would be really fricken awesome." I get up and hug him. "Thank you," I mumble into Zach's shirt.
Zach and I walk out to my truck. "So I guess I'm taking you to school?" I laugh.
"Oh, thanks." He smirks.
We talk and laugh all the way to school, then I remember Jay.
I park, we get out.
"Ready?" Zach asks, offering me his hand.
"No." I sigh, taking his hand. We walk into school.
We walk to my locker, I don't actually use it but Jay's is right next to mine and he uses his.
"Dylan!" Jay runs up to me. "I haven't seen you in forever!" He hugs me, I stand there stiffly. He pulls back, "Whats wrong?"
I take a deep breath, "I know, I know that you sold me out to Helen's gang. I know that you are working with them." Tears pool in my eyes, I look up at him.
Jay's eyes turn cold. "Guess you figured out the puzzle, took you long enough."
"Was our whole friendship all because you work for Helen?" I ask, tears falling.
"Of course it was. And I'm glad its over, too."
I turn around and walk away, tears falling down my cheeks.
"Minty," Zach turns me around and pulls me to his chest.
We stand like that and I cry on his shirt.
"Minty?" Zach holds me at arms length. He wipes the tears off my cheeks. "Screw him, he is a jerk and a half."
"You're right but he was so cruel." I close my eyes.
"Lets get to class." Zach grabs my hand and walks with me to class.
