"Hey, Dylan."

"Why are you here?" I spit, glaring.

"Doing some business. What are you doing here?"

"I go to school here now."

"Well, that's too bad. You know, I really wish I could say that I miss you. But I can't," he shrugs.

"What do you want? I have no more happiness for you to demolish."

"Who said I wanted to demolish your happiness?" he runs his hand down my cheek but I swat it away.

"Go home, I don't want anything to do with you." I glare.

"Ah. But, you see, I want something from you."

"I don't have anything to give you."

"Yes you do."

"Enlighten me."

"Where did you get that ring?"

My eyes flash to the simple silver ring on my right index finger. I wear other rings now and again, but I always wear this one. "Claire's." I lie.

"Nope, who gave it to you?"

"Zach." I whisper.

"How about I take it off your hands? Literally."

"No." I say quickly.

"You really shouldn't hold so tightly to the past, Dill," he leans to my ear, "I heard it's got a harsh bite."

I look at the ring as Jay walks out of the cafeteria.

I plop into the hard plastic chair. Its the last period of the day. The day has gone by so slowly, I have been counting the hours until I could go home, hours turned into minutes and minutes have turned into seconds.

Three, two one-

I jump out of my seat, running to be the first at my locker. As I reach my locker, I quickly unlock it. Pulling my JS out of it, I close and lock my locker. Then I run to my truck.

Finally, I pull into my driveway. It is about time.

I walk in the front door, all I want to do is get in bed and watch Mean Girls on my laptop.

I trudge into my room, going straight to my closet. I change into a pair of tight-ish fitting tribal print sweatpants and a long sleeve black shirt.

I lay on my bed, then realizing my laptop is on my desk. I get up walk to it, then turn around and scream.

Victor, Jeff and Sam run into my room. I start hyperventilating staring at the box on my bed.

"Dylan, it's just a box," Victor looks at me worriedly.

"N-no. Jay visited me today. He probably put that in here. I-it could be l-like a gun or something. Or a person's eyeball," I start shaking.

I know I'm overreacting but that was not there before. I was just sitting there!

"Dylan," Sam puts his hands on my shoulders, "calm down."

"I know. But I was just sitting there. I just turned around and BAM it was there."

"Do you want us to open it?" Jeff asks.

"Yes, please." I nod.

Victor walks over to the box and I close my eyes.

He opens the box.

And

A little baby rabbit hops out.

I scream in awe.

It's a floppy eared bunny with a bit of light brown but is mostly white.

I look around the room at the guys and Victor. They point to my desk, and there's a whole cage for him!

I gently pick up the bunny and it nestles its head in the crook of my elbow. I gently pet him.

"Happy birthday!" They smile at me.

I put the bunny in its cage.

Suddenly my closet doors burst open and someone walks out.

My jaw drops. Then I scream, like really, really loudly.
