2 | Bumped into Him!

No, this can't be happening to me, no way. After I saw what I saw, I had to disconnect the call and ran off to the washroom. I locked up myself inside and sat on the toilet seat. I had panic stress and all I could yell was, please let this be a dream, please! And...

"Hey, Kayla... you in there? Are you okay?" a girl spoke to me from outside the door. But I didn't give her a response.

"Kayla, come on, I know you're in there! I saw you rushing inside, and I thought I could check up on you!"

"Who are you!?"

"Ooh, yes, sorry. It's me Aneth. We're in the same class, I don't think you even know me, b... but I know you..."

"Ooh hey, Aneth!" honestly I just said hey, but yes, I don't know this girl.

"Are you okay? Can I... do you need my help maybe?"

"No, no, Aneth. I'm totally fine, this is my way of getting into the toilet when I take a big lunch!"

"But it's not even noon yet..."

"I know, can you please leave? I need to finish up what I'm doing here!"

"Ooh, okay. Am out! Feel free... just keep on releasing that big lunch you ate, I guess! I'm out..."

"Yeah Aneth, I heard you... bye!"

"Okay... bye, see you in class." And she left, I could hear the washroom door closing.

Okay, now what am I going to do? It's still morning and I have to get to class, Nathaniel will be there, Tristan too, God forbid and right now, I can't rush telling Esme that the Nathaniel she's giving a tour to, is the actual Nathaniel she knows about! The last thing I want is my best friend finding out I lied to her...

And so, I decided to take a breath, and I walked out the washroom trying to make my face cool while I'm burning inside. When I was still walking through the school hallways, a sudden bell rang, and the bell reminded me of something that could actually help me with not meeting Nathaniel in class.

It was an emergency bell to the assembly, it was school government election season, and the campaigns were starting officially today. And so, I guess my whole day will be inside the assembly, no Nathaniel, no trouble, just me and my old self. And did I forget mentioning that Esme was still calling all that time, and I was just ghosting her!

I got inside the assembly hall, and I had already taken my seat. Then "buzz... buzz" my phone vibrated. It was Esme texting me; "can you hold up two extra seats for me, I've got to finish up with the Nathaniel guy on his tour!"

Oh my God, no... this can't seriously be happening! I thought the assembly was going to be my only chance not to meet Nathaniel, but I guess it isn't... so, I came up with a new plan, this might seem crazy but hey, it's something. I stood up and I tried to view the whole assembly in general, and then... boom, I fell on the ground.

"Oh my... she fainted!" one of the students yelled to the others. And everyone began wondering what had happened to cause my sudden fall. And by the way, do you remember the time I told you I came up with a plan... and this was the plan! I had to fake the faint accident for my friends to take me out of the school assembly, and probably soon or later, I wake up and be permitted to go home and rest... and end this day's misery!

As I planned, and yes my friends had carried me out of the school assembly hall and direct to the nurse's office. And by that time, I could still sense my phone's vibration from my pocket, and to my guess, it was Esme trying to text and call at the same time. And so, minutes passed by and the nurse began observing me and trying to figure out what was the problem. She checked my temperature, she checked my eyes and other parts that the doctors and nurses are obliged to check when having a fainted patient.
