New Crest-hill Town!

Once upon a time, no wait. That's kind of an old saying to start with these days or a fairy-tale in that case. But hey, who cares.

So, once upon a time, not that long. I had a crush, his name was Nathaniel Knight, and I liked being around him every single time. Where ever he goes, I would go, and where ever he settled, I settled. Just to have that kind of a close boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, though we were just kids, and I was the one that was holding on to this detail, secretly.

In school, he would buy me lunch and walk me home when we felt like not taking the bus. We spent time together for a very long time and later it grew weird, no talking at school, no more lunch as time went on and we could only meet on weekends just to catch up on a few things and boom, he left town.

After he and his family left town, new crest-hill felt so huge to me. So lonely, no one to meet on weekends, no one to cry and lean on. And what made it all worse, he never called or texted after he left. I tried calling his last phone number and it was no longer in use, and all I could think of was, "hey, he moved on without you. Get over it!"

Time for high school was now coming, and still, I had no one to call boyfriend or even a girl who's a friend. Sorry, it just sounds better saying boyfriend in one word rather than a girlfriend in one word for me. And hey, guess what?

I met this cute awesome girl, she was not that far from my home street all that time. I guess I didn't spot her since I was so covered up in Nathaniel's cloud. And as time went on, we became friends, best friends, saying it accurately. Her name is Esme Williams, she's one of the best, honestly speaking.

After spending much time with her, I never wanted to have a boyfriend anymore, since I already believed that maybe a friend was all I needed all that time. And sometimes I got scared to face the same thing that my mom went through after my dad left us, I didn't really get to see him since I was so young. "I wish you had a better life like your other friends with their fathers by their side..." my mom would always say to me! And sometimes, I blamed my father for making all these things happen in my life. If he never left us, maybe he could cover up the boyfriend spot in my life. But hey, he chickened out and left, so what's done, is done!

High school began, and Esme made it a miracle in all my life experiences like never before. No one to bully me, no shit talks about me, and hey guess what... even boys were now paying attention to me after all that time. We would walk on the school hallways and "hey, you free this weekend?" the boys would ask. And "nop, not this girl!" I would reply.

And then... another miracle happened when a cute boy was transferred to our class. Tristan Walker was his name! Like, his entrance in class could make my mouth go curved, a smile that's what I mean! And slowly, I would say hi to him, just to catch his attention. And spoiler alert... he one day replied back, and this time it wasn't just a reply, but a conversation about life and all that stuff. The way he speaks, the way he looks at me, I can say "I was totally into a bad boy..." but my heart kept on saying, "Nathaniel was Nathaniel. This one's new, come on, let us give it a try... after all, Nathaniel isn't coming back to new crest-hill..." and finally, I made up my mind. "Okay then, let's do this!" And I went for it.

My name is Kayla Reyes. And all I do in this world is surviving against heart snatchers and down below chasing boys in high school, and maybe in my future life after high school. And this is how all went on!
