you had wandered away from the group a little under an hour ago, wanting some time and space to yourself. they didn't mind, and didn't chase after, knowing that it was just the way you were, and in the event that anything did happen, you would surely be able to handle yourself.

it was near pitch black where you walked, the pale moonlight barely making its way through the dense foliage. your eyes made up for the lack of sight, however, picking up the plants and rocks that would've been invisible to the others. it was one of the special qualities you possessed, for a human anyway, passed down your royal bloodline.

it was incredibly demanding, being an heir. that's why you and your friends had planned this getaway, a few months before you were to take over your fathers place and be crowned. you blew out a light breath, wanting to rid yourself of those thoughts before the stress came crawling back.

you came across a large clearing in the vast forest, stepping close to find a sheer drop that overlooked a waterfall and a lake below. it was beautiful, really. the vast patch of water sparkled in the night's luminescence, almost translucent with how pure it was. shadows darted in the depths, their visible tails moving gracefully to propel them through. a nostalgic smile made it way to your face as you recognised the movement, mermaids always did fascinate you.

they wouldn't take to kindly to your being here, though. making a move to turn around and venture somewhere else, you lost your footing, slipping on a loose rock by the border of the cliff.

a gasp was barely able to make its way out of your mouth before you were losing your balance and stumbling forwards, legs just shooting over the edge of the lengthy fall. your hands reached out, trying to grasp anything but finding nothing as gravity pulled you down. then, there was nothing beneath you.

something grabbed your hand, fingers wrapping around your wrists with a secure grip. in a flash, you were back on solid ground, eyes opening to find bare toes wiggling in the green grass in front of you. scrambling to your feet, you were sure to put yourself a safe distance from the drop, then glanced at your saviour.

well. you did not expect that.

a young man - angel, perhaps? - stood there, with a pleasant ambience surrounding him, a small smile on his face as he looked at you, coffee-coloured eyes crinkling adorably with the action.
it had taken you aback; his strength certainly didn't match the pure appearance, with the brown hair that fell over his forehead, the round, honey-tinged cheeks, and the pouty lips that were a perfect shade of pink. the pastel yellow shirt he was wearing, one that was long enough to meet his - on second glance - quite muscular thighs and cover his hands, only added to the innocent look. thick lips moved when he spoke, soft and smooth, a melody to your ears,  "are you alright?"

you paused before the reply, noticing as a dull ache begin to stir in the wrist he had pulled with the inquiry. it was minor, compared to what could've occurred. "i'm fine, thank you... for helping me."

his grin split his face even more, appearing more than happy with your response. a flutter began in your stomach, bubbling up to your chest where you finally became conscious of how fast it was beating. you felt your own cheeks begin to tug upwards, and you immediately pulled them in the opposite direction, brows knitting as you realised that this meeting wasn't as simple as it may have seemed at first.

"i'm a light fairy - you don't have to worry about me hurting you," hurting you? he just saved your life. surely if he meant harm he would've just let you go.

you shook your head, realising he took your frown as suspiciousness. "it's not that, there's something about this..."

your sentence trailed off as the being stepped closer, no noise made as he moved through the grass with a confident stride. he didn't break eye-contact when he closed the distance between you, his brown orbs shimmering in the dark, with something you couldn't quite put your finger on. you didn't shy away, staying static until he was less than an arms length away. when he was, as if prised by some invisible force, your dominant hand rose, cupping his ample cheeks.

like a cat, the smaller male nuzzled into it straight away, his own going over the top of yours to keep the warmth near. he soaked in your tender touch for a few seconds, letting out a contented sigh.

he let his long eyelashes flutter as his eyes opened, roaming over your features before locking onto your cloudy orbs and whispering, "i need to see your eyes."
without hesitation, you blinked, the thin layer of grey disappearing to show your natural (e/c) eyes. it was like a wash of sunlight covered your bodies as you met eyes, your heart leaping in your chest with happiness, with joy at finally being complete.

"jimin," you breathed, leaning forward to rest your forehead gently on his. "no way— i, i can't believe i've found you,"

"me neither; i never thought my soulmate would be a human," he laughed quietly, the sound causing a hitch in your breath. "let alone the next ruler of their kingdom,"

"i hope i've not disappointed." you teased, eyes shimmering with barely contained excitement.

"no, of course not. you're beautiful. in here too," a small palm came to rest on your chest, "i can feel it." he reluctantly took your hand away from his face, but found his next move of wrapping his arms around your neck to be a much better alternative. your own automatically locked around his waist, and pulled him flush against you, body tingling hot with the contact.

"wow," your voice was filled with such pride and awe at your soulmate, at how enchanting he was, face glowing up at you with such contentment, you could see flowers begin to bloom around you. and now he was yours. "i'm never going to get tired of waking up to you." a cupid-pink dusted his cheeks, adding to his elysian aura in the pale moonlight.

he placed his head on your chest, and the two of you swayed for some moments, submerging in each other's presence, before a sudden thought sprung to mind, "but you're a prince too, jimin, what are we going to do? they won't let us choose one kingdom over the other."

the brunet moved back to look at you, and answered with no hesitation, chocolate eyes trained on your lips. "i don't know, and i don't care really either, (y/n)," they flickered up to your eyes as he leaned in slowly, hands finding their way to your hair, "as long as i'm with you."
