                          Logan's P.O.V.

Once all the students exited the classroom I made my way over to the unnamed magician, with hopes he will appreciate my presence, and we could feasibly become acquaintances. I attempt to stride over to the mysterious man, the smaller and more intricate details of his face and outfit comes into view. The details work like a mosaic, some of the major fractions seem out of place, yet perfect and purposeful. "You had quite a captivating act if I do say so myself." "Oh yeah, the crowd was just ECSTATIC with every trick I performed." "Why no, quite the contrary, a lot of them seemed to be scared, if I didn't know any better, I would say they were utterly terrified." I countered his completely erroneous claim about his act, I can't believe he thought the children genuinely enjoyed his performance. "Why I DIDN'T KNOW THAT Star-dust! Maybe I should of had been more attentive." He retorts, then I remembered that he mentioned how he lies regularly, yet I didn't believe that he would lie this often. Upon closer inspection you can assume he's paranoid and a bit worried. He would look down and while rubbing his arms, yet farther into the conversation we got, the more his posture and eye contact will improve, not only that, but his movements became more dramatic and over exaggerated. "Like I was saying, my career is SKYROCKETING and I TOTALLY know why." he continued to go on and on about his career, I feel a tiny bit of anguish, knowing that the fall of his career could very well put him on the streets if he's not careful enough. "My apologies for rambling, I DON'T BELIEVE we were on the topic of my name? "Ah yes that's right, but before you dwell upon that subject, I must let you know that my name is Logan." I announce, not wanting him to feel uncomfortable on the topic as well. "Well Logan, my name ISN'T Damien, but DON'T call me Deceit." That alias sent shivers down my spine. Deceit Ethos, the man who King Deon wants to kill for not fitting into his very own image of perfect. As if Damien was reading my thoughts, he cues in, "DO think of me as a threat, it's all that SMART rulers fault, if he WAS a cocky, overconfident ENJOYABLE PERSON then I WOULD be in this predicament." "Don't get me started, I really despise King Deon, he's a total dictator, completely disregarding the needs of England itself. I feel relieved, I can finally impute how much I abhor our current ruler. Even though I've only met this man today, yet I already feel a deep connection with him, like I can share everything and anything with Deceit. "Also, about my name, SHARE IT WITH EVERYONE because I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW." I start to shake, he trusted me with something so important to his, yet I haven't told him anything of adequate importance. I feel the need to tell him this, if he trusts me with his name, then I can trust him with this information. "Hey um Deceit, would you mind if I tell you something?" "DON'T CONTINUE." "Well, I'm um, how should I phrase this...I'm gay." I feel a weight get lifted off my shoulders, something that I was forced to keep in finally got released, and if I was being truly honest, I felt sanguine, almost disdainful. "Really, I NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GUESS." There was a pause as my worry grows, then he continues. "For an astute man you MUST THINK HIGHLY of me. Isn't OBVIOUS that i'm NOT GAY!" I'm taken aback by his facetious announcement, yet I get a giddy feeling in the pit of my stomach, a flutter if you will, as hope starts to flood through my body. We continued to talk for what felt like hours, laughing, our comfort levels between each other increasing. Suddenly there was a knock at the door, anguish started to be dispersed between each other, did they hear our conversation? And if they did how much did they hear? Without any warning they entered the room. The attire dawned upon by the man was part of the workforce for the government. A pristine and formal outfit, the ensemble that is only allowed to be worn by the king's second in command. He pulls out a scroll and prepares to announce a pre-written speech. "Logan Star, King Deon has requested your presence at the castle this instance for an important announcement, your options are simple, follow me and be safe, or ignore me and get executed, the choice is yours." I'm appalled to say the least, what have I done to cause a major uproar that the king sends his second in command to get me, frankly I don't believe I've done anything that may warrant a physical jail sentence, other than staying up past curfew, but that only vindicates a couple thousand dollar fine. I reluctantly follow along, the suspense is killing me with each step closer we take, my mind starts to wander as I become more analytical I am regarding this request. While we are traversing the land to get to the castle he keeps telling me that there is nothing to worry about, yet his tone implies quite the opposite, his voice trembling every time he says that inconsequential phrase. Either way we endure in silence as my mind continues to pace. Then I realise it, Deceit has been in the classroom all day, and Deceit did mention how the government was on his tail regarding a possible execution. Yet, if they wanted to question me about Deceit, then why wouldn't they take him as well? I hardly notice that we've made our way to the entry pathway to the castle immensely guarded, some of the guards were marching back and forth in rhythm, making sure no intruders dare trespass on the Kings property, they all seem to be emotionless, yet at this point why would anyone have anything but a straight face in this day and age. We trout our way to the big doors and a pair of guards asked us to state our business, but with a simple flick of his hand the guards got off of his case. How the guards didn't know it was the ambassador to the king leaves me with more questions than I have answers, but I digress. Once the guards opened the doors we pursued our journey. When we entered, it seemed like it would never end, yet there is plenty hallways that would prove me wrong. While walking down one of the many corridors, I realize plenty of burnt, and shredded documents hung up, upon closer inspection they were copy of our old regulations that he has eliminated. I began to fidget with my hands as I hoped this confrontation will end sooner than later. Once we got to the end of the corridor, he opens the door, while the twin wards stand on guard. The wards used to look practically identical, but one of them got into some sort of endeavor which caused the entire left side of his body to be badly scarred. I give him a slight wave with a small smile, hoping he won't try to kill me in the near future. The second in command started to introduce me. "Oh high and mighty King Deon, here is Logan Star, as you requested." My nervousness started to skyrocket as King Deon ask me to take a step forward. "Mr. Star, I would love to give you the opportunity to become one of the higher-ups with me, a prince if you would." I immediately freeze, the government I despise wants me to work with them. I stammer before being able to form a cohesive statement. "I sincerely apologize King Deon, but I find pleasure with the life I'm currently living in. It would also immensely increase in the amount of stress in regards to my free time in my life. So I have to confess that I do not want this job, again I am deeply sorry." King Deon gives me a look of utter distaste, but then his facial expression lightens up and makes a slight sigh, then he speaks up. "Okay Mr. Star, I understand your sentiment, but you'll have to work for me sooner or later, so what will it be?" I pause for a minute, making it seem like I was thinking, then I answer. "Sorry, but I'd rather work for you later King Deon." We were immediately told to leave, and I instantly regret what I said while I hurried out of the castle, worried about what he will do to me in the future.
