The sound of tires screeching and two loud bangs had my heart-stopping.
Without thinking, I was already in my car, speeding towards the accident.
A bad feeling erupted in my stomach when the smell of smoke became evident in the car from outside.
What I saw made my emotions go wild.
There, the love of my life was lying in her car with black smoke coming from the hood.
I looked at the person in the other car.
They were unconscious.
Deciding to save my best friend first, I ran over to her car, trying to pry the door open.
When it didn't open, I rammed my fist into the driver's seat window and unlocked the door in a rush.
Due to the adrenaline rushing through my veins, I didn't feel any pain.
Pulling Jen out of the car, I heard voices screaming my name.
It turned out to be the whole squad.
I didn't turn around, only worrying about Jen and the other person.
I moved Jen farther away from the car onto the sidewalk and proceeded to get the other unconscious person out of the other car, not wanting anyone to die from Jen's car possibly exploding.
I laid them next to each other and called 911 with shaky hands.
I told them the situation and soon enough the police, ambulance, and firefighters had arrived.
Jen and the other person, who turned out to be a guy a little bit older than us, were put on long stretchers and rushed to the hospital.
While they left, firefighters stopped the smoke coming out from Jen's car.
As soon as I knew everything was ok, I went to my friends.
While the whole event took place, they were petrified.
I had to literally shake them in order to bring them back to reality.
After they realized what really happened, we all jumped into my car and together we sped off to the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, I ran to the reception desk and asked the lady about Jen and the other guy's condition. She said that the doctor will be out soon, after identifying that we were all Jen's "family".
Then came the torturous wait in the waiting room.
I kept glancing at the clock and my phone for the time, wishing to know what the damage was.
Cora called Jen's parents while Cayden and Kyra tried to remember Royalty's number.
Shae had called the school and told them what happened.
They gave us many days to recover thanks to Shae.
He may have over exaggerated a small bit, saying that we were all in the hospital, which I guess, we were.
After about an hour or so, the doctor finally came out.
" Who is the boyfriend of Jennifer Ann Mar—"
I stood up automatically and ran to the doctor. Dr. Shari was her name.
"What's the news doc?!" I asked urgently.
"Jennifer is completely fine besides having a concussion and a cut reopening near her hairline." She said.
I breathed a breath of relief.
"What about the other person?"
"I was just getting to that. The man is fine as well besides having a sprained knee as well as a concussion from the impact. It's a good thing you got there early because things could've been much worse."
She replied before adding,
"You can see her now but only 3 people in the room at a time. Also, please remember that she has a concussion that may cause migraine-like pains so the lights are low and you have to speak softly."
"Thank you so much" I cried, having the urge to hug the doctor I now knew as named Dr. Karen.
I didn't do it because I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable.
Instead, I kissed her cheek and ran to the room number that the receptionist gave me.
Cayden and Kyra came with me, overhearing the convo.
When I walked in, Jen was lying on the hospital mattress with her eyes closed.
"Baby girl" I started, causing her eyes to flutter open.
"I'm so sorry and I didn't mean to hurt you or whatever happened back there because, in all honesty, it wasn't me who bought another person over. It wasn't any of us tbh."
"Then who was getting it on like Donkey Kong last night?" She replied in a whisper.
"It was Kyra and Cayden. You know they've been dating for a few months now." I tried to explain.
"WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS?!"
"Baby, calm down"
"NO, DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT BEING LIED TO AND THAT'S WHY I HAVE TRUST ISSUES AND I FUCKING KISSED HER. I FEE—"
She was cut off with a kiss.
