Jen's POV:

I know that he knows that I know what he did back there... I know, kinda confusing...

You see, James and I have been best friends since birth. Our mothers were right next to each other, room wise, and the doctors accidentally switched us up. I went to his parents and James went to my parents. They didn't notice the difference until they had to change our diapers.

Long story short, my dad and Corey went running down the hospital hallway to find the doctor that delivered both of us.

We're 20 minutes apart, but James is older.

Anyway, when all of the confusion was fixed, our parents found humor in the situation and it turned out that they only lived a block apart. Only when Corey and Mary got divorced did James move across the street from me.

My whole point is that I know James probably more than he knows himself.

If that makes sense.

So when he tried to change the convo to actually arriving at Sophia's, I knew exactly what he was thinking. Probably something along the lines of "Oh, maybe I can distract her and then run from her wrath when she realizes what I did!"

Alright, so maybe I don't know exactly what he was thinking but I do know that what he did will only come back as karma in the future...

I'm not even gonna do anything but I know that he's expecting me to. That's the whole point...

For this whole trip, he's probably gonna be on guard, waiting for me to explode but I'm not gonna give him the satisfaction of being right. What type of wife would I be if I did?

Yes, I did say wife...

I said it because I don't plan on giving him up anytime soon and I'm way too far deep to not assume that he's gonna be my one and only.

Yea, I have had one or two boyfriends in my past but they were just experiments. With the first guy, we didn't do anything but go out on a few dates and kiss a few times. If I'm being honest, that guy would've still been my boyfriend to this day if every time I kissed him, I didn't think of James...

As for the second guy, we went on one date, and then he asked out. I broke up with him because James kept threatening to hurt him if we stayed together. Turns out, a month later, I found out that James caught him about to cheat on me at a party right before he officially asked me out. The way he asked me out was not what you would call romantic... We were at a wendy's drive-thru and he was like, "Hey, Jen, Baby Boo, Can I make you mine if I buy you order number two?"

Now that, was one of the most cringy moments I think I ever had in my entire life. At the time though, James had just gotten busy with his newest fling and she took up all of his time. That left me lonely and sad. My only option was the guy who used a cringy pick up line in order to try and make me his girlfriend. I only said yes because he was really hot at the time. Before he cut all of his hair off.

*Externally shivers*

"Jen, are you cold?"

"Nah, I'm good..."

"Babe, come here."

"I'm ok" I reply, trying to hide my emotions. Like always, James sees right through me and falls in step beside me.

We're walking toward the hotel across the street.

"Listen, Babygirl..." I try to ignore him but the name catches me off guard. "I'm sorry for hurting your feelings but I will not apologize for pointing out something that you're too stubborn to see..."
