Jen's POV:Reaching home, I immediately strip the clothes from my body that now seemed to cling to me along with the sweat from running, text the girls that I got home safe, and jump in the shower.
I left the party quickly, scared that Peyton would notice me and start some shit. I didn't need any more drama in my life...
All of this, it's bullshit, to be honest.
First of all, I went to that party to finally let loose and forget about the one person that caused me to feel all of this shit. Of course, he's the one I get paired with and I didn't even know until the end of it. I would've enjoyed it more but that's beside the point.
Second of all, James knew EXACTLY what he was doing.
He obviously saw that he was going in the closet with me since he led me there and yet refused to say anything until we were done.
Not that I gave him the option though...
But once again, that's not the point.
Lastly, all of this shit just confused me more. If James knew that he was gonna be my partner then why the hell did he go through with it?
Does this mean that he's got his feelings straight?
Does this mean that he wants to be with me?
When did my life get so difficult!?
The shower began to turn cold, forcing me to actually move from the spot I've been standing in for the past 20 minutes. Finally, the swarming thoughts and questions come to a stop and I can breathe again.
Exiting the shower, I dry off, lotion down, brush my teeth, and begin to get dressed in my pajamas.
Just as I put my arm through the hole of my shirt, the doorbell rang four times and I immediately knew who it was.
Putting on my shorts, I rush downstairs and open the door for James. He stands at my doorstep drenched in water and seems to be out of breath.
"Did you run here?" I couldn't help but laugh at his appearance. He was wearing light blue jeans and a white shirt that showed the muscles in his chest.
"Nope, I walked but your sprinklers turned on while I was walking through your grass and now I'm soaking wet. Can I come in?"
"Yea, Yea, of course."
As he walks in, he removes his shoes and follows me up to my room.
"Give me your clothes and get in the shower so you don't get sick. I'll put your clothes in the washer and grab some clothes from your drawer. Just call me when you're done."
"Ok, oh and Jen..." He paused before continuing. "We have to talk about what the fuck is going on between us."
"I know..." I say, releasing a deep sigh. "Just shower first and we'll go from there." There was a thick presence in the air now.
"Okay?" Bear said with a shrug.
"Okay." I replied and walked out of my room. I turned around just in time to hear him say it with me.
"THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!" We both began laughing and I left the room with a lighter feeling in the air.
It finally felt like my life wasn't falling apart.
