"...and this is the editors offices. Which is where I would be." I said pointing down the hall.
"Lucy..." she tried to start up a conversation. But I ignored her and went on to a new thing.
"And over there is the lunch room. There's a fridge and coffee. If there's no more, well it's up to the next person to make some..."
"Lucy please.." she began. I rolled my eyes and walked back to my office, where Andrew was sitting on my desk waiting.
"I showed you your office. Now get to it. Chris will get you started from there. He'll be your boss." I said turning on my heel and ignoring her as I shut my office door. I groaned and walked over to Andrew, smacking him across the head.
"Ow! What did I do??"
"Do you have any idea who she is??"
"Obviously no." He pouted.
I sighed and sat down, looking up at him. "Michelle...she's the reason for mine and John's divorce."
His eyes widened. "Wait a minute. Thats Her??? She's the..."
"Yeah." I crossed my arms and sat back. "I can't even look at her without wanting to rip her head off! She ruined everything. My marriage. My family. Or atleast what could have been."
"Lucy I'm sorry. I didn't know. I didn't recognize her." He hopped off my desk and sat in my lap, straddling me. I couldn't help but to break out a smile.
"Andrew you goof get off me."
"Not until you tell me you forgive me."
"Andrew it's not your fault. You didn't know. I'm sorry I smacked you. Just..keep her away from me as far as possible."
"I promise. Now, I believe I owe you lunch." He smiled. I nodded and leaned up. Giving him a quick kiss.
..
Five hours later
6:15 pm
Julian was sitting on the counter, grating cheese while James tossed the salad. I checked the spaghetti and let the boys taste it. This just ended with them arguing over if it needed salt or more herbs.
I was helping James set the table when there was a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it.
"Hey Andrew. What brings you by??"
He walked in and gave me a folder. "Whelp, I have to do an assignment in two weeks in New York. I was wondering...is that spaghetti I smell?"
I laughed and waved for him to come in.
"We were just getting ready to eat dinner. Maybe we can talk during?" I asked. He nodded and followed me into the kitchen.
"Andrew!!" Julian and James smiled, hugging him. I giggled and broke them apart.
"Alright alright, leave our guest alone. Oh wait nevermind, it's just Andrew." I teased, serving everyone.
"I resent that Luce. Look, I was coming by to ask you if you wanted to come to New York with me..."
"New York!? Yes!!" Julian yelled. I looked at him.
"Jules I didnt even agree yet. What's the assignment?" I asked.
"Whelp it's a show at Madison Square. Look, you know New York well, I can tell you're a little homesick. We can visit together, sight seeing, get to know the place again." He said smiling. I sat down next to him and watched as the boys tossed meatballs at each other and goofed around.
