Once on a minty summer's day

One moment on a minty summer's day,
On a cool sea breeze of morning you play,
Sweat on your face as you make the ball sway,
A sudden you stopped and in your place you stayed.

Sunshines on this drowsy face you saw,
Seems like divine truths, an angel of no flaws,
the fascination you feel takes you to no law,
How lovely is this girl, even made your teeth gnaw.

Crawling desires of courage to ask this young lady,
Tons of doubts in your mind  hinders you badly,
Time is ticking, boy you've made a wrong choice sadly,
The moment has passed, should have thought quickly.

You never asked and now you never knew,
Time has passed by quick and now far it flew,
The world has moved and now so you too,
You doubted and now you're cold as the morning dew.

If you only asked you'll never regret that past,
But in sad thoughts you caged yourself in a golden cage so vast,
If only, once on a minty summer's day, a moment wouldn't be so fast,
You and me would have been us, clasps in a forever that would never last.
