Common Symptoms:
Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
Loss of interest in daily activities.
Appetite or weight changes.
Sleep changes.
Anger or irritability.
Loss of energy.
Self-loathing.
Reckless behavior.
Concentration problems.
Stereotypes:
“Happy people can’t possibly be depressed” - depression can be in anyone example Robin Williams. He was a comedian who died from suicide in 2014.
“Depression isn’t a real illness” - depression is real, it wasn’t created by random people who came up with as an excuse for how their feeling.
