"Kaila you make it to school on time?" I asked as she nodded her head

Every since my mom died she hadn't been herself she was sad and it was nothing I could do to help

"You wannna go to the mall or something?" I asked as she shook her head no

"You make any friends today" I asked as she nodded her head yes

"I met this girl named Joe she was nice , helped me find my way around the school what about you?"

"I wouldn't necessarily say I made friends but I met a few people "

"Kacey I don't like it here when are we gonna get our own place your dad is mean and he makes me uncomfortable" she spoke fidgeting with the end of her shirt

"Did he say something to you?" I asked getting upset , anybody who knew me knew I didn't play about my sister

"He just looks at me like I'm a piece of meat I'm afraid to be around him for to long by myself because I think he might try something" she said as I nodded my head grabbing her bags

"Here put your stuff in this bag ima go pack mine" I said getting up going to the room next door where I was sleeping

If my dad did anything to my sister I wouldn't be able to forgive myself and I wouldn't be here after that to watch over her because I'd be in jail for murder

"You going somewhere?" He asked walking in the room as I packed my stuff

"Me and Kaila getting up out of here" I spoke as he grabbed the bag out of my hand

"And going where you ain't got nowhere to go?" He spoke getting angry by the second

Pinching the tip of my nose I tried to keep my calm "don't worry about it we gonna be straight"

Shaking his head he walked out of the room leaving me to finish packing I don't have much so it ain't take long

"Alright you ready?" I asked from my room walking into hers only to see my dad hovering over her

Quickly dropping my things I pushed him away from her before punching him in the face

Kaila sat on the bed grabbing her stuff "Kacey come on! Stop!" She yelled as i kicked him repeatedly in the head

"You shouldn't have fucked with me" I said looking down at him as he cried shaking my head before leaving the house

"Where are we gonna go?" Kaila cried as I sighed running my hand over my face trying to think

Instead of leaving his house I should've kicked his ass out and stayed there I had no idea what I was gonna do

"I'm thinking on it let's just go to a diner or something so I can think" I said wiping my bloody knuckles on the inside of my shirt

"I wish mama was here everything was better when she was here"

I needed help I ain't never been this down , this last month hit harder than ever

"Mook it's gonna be okay ight? I got us for life I promise it's gonna get better just let me figure sum out" I spoke as she nodded wiping her face

I had about 80 dollars on me that wasn't even enough money for us to get a room

"Come on mook let's go get some food , where you wanna eat?"

"It doesn't matter" she replied
It was only a few food places around so I decided to stop at McDonald's which was right around the corner
