Abstinence from needless talk and meaningless activity is a necessary requirement of good faith and an adornment of personality which lends beauty to the faith of the person concerned.
Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Indeed among the excellence of a person's Islam is that he leaves alone that which does not concern him." [At-Tirmidhi]
