Hi guys! This is my first Fan Fiction book, so please go easy on me. This chapter is just a recap, as are chapters two and three. After that, it will be my own writing. Don't try and read this if you haven't watched My Hero Academia, because it won't make any sense.

A special thanks to KrystalSunset118 for editing my story!!

Enjoy the book!

As the bell rang signalling the start of homeroom, the teacher ambled into the room holding a large pile of forms. He walked over to the podium at the front of the class and glared at everyone in the room.

"Since you're all third years," he said in a bored tone, "it's time for you to think seriously about your futures. I'll pass out handouts for your future plans, but..." he smiled and threw the forms into the air, letting them scatter around him, "you're all pretty much planning to go into the hero course, right?"

The teacher grinned as the class cheered, showing off their quirks to each other. Everyone except two students where acting excited about the future. One was Midoryia, a freckle-faced, green-haired boy, who was busy writing in his scrappy notebook. The other was Bakugo, a spiky-haired blond well known for his explosive temper, who was slouching in his chair with his feet resting on the desk, looking like the picture of boredom.

"Yes, yes, you all have wonderful Quirks!" the teacher smiled proudly at his class. "But remember, using your Quirks at school is against the rules!"

The students quieted down, still grinning excitedly as they thought about becoming heroes in the near future. It was almost every child's dream to work in this profession during this time, as they grew up hearing about the amazing adventures heroes had every day.

"Teach!" Bakugo drawled with a sneer, not bothering to change his relaxed position. "Don't lump us all in the same group. I'm not gonna be stuck at the bottom with the rest of these rejects!"

The class was immediately filled with indignant cries from the other students.

"That was uncalled for, Katsuki!" The other students yelled. Bakugo just laughed, brushing his spiky hair out of his eyes.

"You all should shut up like the extras you are!" He jeered, causing more shouts of protest from the class.

Amidst the noise, the teacher said, "Oh, if I remember correctly, you want to go to U.A. High, right Bakugo?"

Midoryia froze. Nooo, he thought. Why did he have to choose U.A.? He already bullies me enough...

Bakugo grinned at the sight of his dumbfounded classmates who were obviously taken aback by the news.

"U.A.? That national school?" someone gasped.

"Their acceptance rate is really low!" another student murmured.

Bakugo leered at the class. "That's exactly why you guys are extras," he said as he jumped onto his desk. "I aced the mock test! I'm the only one in this school who could possibly get into U.A. I'll definitely surpass All Might and become the Number One Hero! My name will be inscribed on the list of top earners!" He bragged passionately with a crazed fire in his eyes.

Midoryia's head hit the table with a thud, his unruly dark green hair covering his eyes. What will he do when he finds out that-

"Oh yeah, Midoryia wanted to go to U.A. too, right?" the teacher inquired.

Bakugo's cocky grin froze on his face. All heads silently turned to face Midoryia, who was willing himself to disappear into thin air. When he chanced a glance from underneath his hair, the class burst out into hysterical laughter, the horrible sound bouncing around the classroom. Midoryia looked around despairingly, his face turning red as he sunk further into his chair.

"Huh? Midoryia? No way!" a student jeered. "You can't get into the hero course just by studying!"

Midoryia stood up, desperately wishing for the laughter to stop. "Th-they got rid of that rule!" he stammered. There's just no precedent..."

Before he could finish, Bakugo suddenly launched himself at Midoryia from across the room, a look of murderous rage splashed across his features. He exploded the desk Midoryia was standing behind, sending the terrified boy flying into the back wall of the classroom. Bakugo stood over Midoryia, making small explosions with his hands while glowering menacingly.

"Hey, Deku!" he shouted furiously. "You're below the rejects. You're Quirkless! How can you even stand in the same ring as me?"

Startled, Midoryia tried to back further away into the wall. "No, wait, Kacchan!" he exclaimed anxiously. "It's not like I'm trying to compete with you or anything! Believe me! It's just that it's been my goal ever since I was little. And well... I won't know until I try..."

With every word, Bakugo's face had darkened further until he had a look of absolute fury on his face. He created more explosions while he leaned in towards Deku.

"Whaddaya mean, unless you try?!" he shouted. "Are you taking the entrance exam for fun?!"

Midoryia's face fell, wincing at Bakugo's words.

"What the hell can you do?" He continued angrily. "You're Quirkless!"
