As Midoryia felt himself coming back to consciousness, he became aware of a large figure standing over him. A large figure that was repeatedly slapping him in the face.

"Hey! He-," the voice paused when Midoryia opened his eyes dazedly. "Oh, good!"

Midoryia's jaw dropped, his eyes widening so much that it looked as though they might pop out of his head. Standing over him was none other than the number one hero, All Might.

"A-ALL MIGHT?!" Midoryia screamed, scrambling back in shock.

All Might grinned down at the dumbfounded boy, unfazed by Midoryia's extreme reaction. "I'm glad you're okay!" he said. "Sorry about getting you caught up in my villain fighting. I don't usually make mistakes like this, but I was in high spirits on my day off in a new place." All Might shook his head ashamedly and laughed, unaware that Midoryia was on the verge of losing consciousness again from being in the presence of his idol. "But you were a big help. Thanks!"

All Might reached into his pocket and pulled out Coke bottle filled with what appeared to the villain, squashed and compacted so he fit into the small space. "I captured him safely!" he said proudly.

Unfortunately, Midoryia was still too amazed by his rescuer to take in much of what he was saying. The number one hero... All Might... he thought in bewilderment, his knees shaking. He's the real thing...

With the shock finally starting to wear off, Midoryia remembered the most important thing to do when you meet a hero. "Oh right!" he exclaimed as he frantically searched for his notebook. "A-an autograph! Where did I-?

He looked down to see his beat-up notebook had already been signed by All Might in large, bold letters. Midoryia almost cried with joy.

"Th-thank you very much!" he cried, bowing so hard and fast it was a wonder he didn't get brain-damaged. "It'll be an heirloom! A family treasure!"

All Might just smiled, slightly freaked out by this over-the-top reaction, and gave Midoryia a thumbs up. "Okay! Well, I need to take this guy to the police," he said, patting the bottled villain in his pocket. He turned around, preparing to leave. "See you again on the other side of the screen!"

Midoryia's spirits fell. "Wait, already?" he murmured.

"Pros are constantly fighting enemies and time."

Wait, Midoryia thought as he watched All Might stretch and get ready to jump away. There are still things... I want to ask... Suddenly, he knew what he needed to do. Midoryia crept to All Might's side and got ready to grab his leg. What a perfect plan! He thought. Now when All Might jumps, he'll take me with him! What could go wrong?

"Well then," All Might said as he leapt into the air. "I'm counting on your continued support!"

Just as he had jumped, All Might had known something wasn't right. He looked down to see Midoryia clinging to his leg, his cheeks flapping as the wind howled through them. He looked quite demented.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!" he shouted while trying to push the insane fan off of him. "Let go of me! Your fanaticism is too much!"

"If I let go now, I'll die!" Midoryia screamed whilst desperately trying to keep a grip on All Might and prevent himself from becoming a pancake on the sidewalk far, far below.

All Might halted his attempts to dislodge Midoryia from his leg. He looked down and saw that they were indeed hundreds of feet in the air. "That's true."

"I... have... a lot of things... I'd like to ask you directly!" Midoryia hollered over the roaring wind.

"Okay! Okay! I'll land soon," All Might replied hastily.

After about two minutes of flying over the bustling city, All Might landed on the roof of an apartment building. Midoryia fell to the ground, his mouth and eyes as dry as Australia, and shaking with unused adrenaline. "Th-that was really scary..." he squeaked through his parched mouth.

All Might stood up straight, turning away from Midoryia. "Good grief," he sighed in annoyance. "If you talk to the people downstairs, I'm sure they'll let you down. I seriously am out of time, so I really must go." The hero started towards the edge of the building, preparing to leave once more.

Midoryia sprang to his feet. He had flown through the air for a solid five minutes, dangling from All Might's leg just so he could talk to him, and now he was leaving?! "Wait!" cried Midoryia.

"NO!" All Might said firmly, holding up a hand to silence Midoryia. "I will not wait." He continued to walk towards the edge of the building.

"But..."

Abruptly, Midoryia was filled with a sense of hopelessness. What if everyone had been right about him? What if he couldn't become a hero? He needed to know...

His mind went over all the hardships he had endured. The doctors had told him he had no quirk. His mother had given up on him. Bakugo and all the other kids at school made fun of him. Those things weighed down on him, pressing his hopes further and further away, crushing him, until all that was left was All Might. His last sliver of hope.

"Even if I don't have a Quirk, can I still become a hero?" he asked, causing All Might to stop in his tracks. Midoryia looked down at his feet, his face turning pink. "Can even someone without a Quirk... ever be like you?"
