Ch.6 Back to the Inn

"Dad come on I want to show mom." The young boy said as he jumped in excitement.

"ok ok im done cleaning it up lets take it home." The Dad picked up the deer and they began to walk back to the village. "Just remeber never go hunting alone its dangerous. the dad placed his hand on his sons head your a natural but doesn't mean you can do things alone you have friends and family around." he looked at his son and smiled. "I know dad I wont do anything reckless and will go with someone to hunt with." The kid said as he looked up at his dad and smiled back.

The were getting close to the village. The village was in a grassland area near the woods to the west of it then the north was a large mountain region. As they were walking the dad noticed there wasnt anyone walking on the road or outside of the village. He looked around but didnt see anything suspious just was really quiet. He picked up the pace as the son followed. they arrived at the village enterance and there was no one walking around.

"Dad is everyone still a sleep or something?" The son looked around and hid behind his dad.

"No something must have happened. Lets go home then I'll see whats going on." The son nodded at his response and followed comesly behind him. They reach there house which in out side of the village but close to the north enterance. They get to the house the dad drops of the deer in the barn, then walk into the house and see the wife cooking.

"Welcome home how was the trip?" she turned around and looked at them.

"Mom I did it... I got a deer" The kid ran up to his mom and stood in front of her smiling.

"That's good!" she gives him a hug then looks up at her husband as he was standing there with a worried look. "What's wrong babe?"

"I need to go... Stay inside ok." He opens the door and walks out.

"W-wait dad"

Marax wakes up breathing deeply looking at the sealing, then let's out a loud sigh as he looks to his left and moved the curtain and notices the sun is barely rising. He sits up then pauses then lays back down "why are you in here Evora?" He sits back up and looks at Evora siting at a table at the other side of the room.

"I came in here a little while ago to make sure you didn't leave with out me." She smiled and leaned back "so when are we going to go? "We will go right now just got to get a few things before we leave the city." He gets off of the bed and grabs his bow, sword and bag. "You got everything Evora?" He said as he walks to the door and opens it.

"Yeah let's go!" She gets her bag then follows behind him as they walk out of the room then shortly Leaving the building. It was pretty early you could see the sun was barely rising and no one on the streets. "Hey Evora before we leave I need to stop by this shop," he said, "it wont take that long." he said as they aproached a trade shop called Gray Pine Goods.

They walk in and shortly the shop keeper walked to the counter. "Welcome to the Gray Pine Goods. What could I do for you today." he said as he leans on the counter and Marax and Evora walk up to him. "Im looking to get some armor sets. Do you have any under 30 gold?". The shop keeper stood up straight. "Yeah I got some steel armor." He walked out the room and cameback shortly with a full set of steel armor. "Here you go." Marax examines it and it looked in good condition it had some furr in the inside of the chest to keep the user warm.

Marax grabs the chest and gauntles "I'll take these" he said as he placed them aside from the rest of the armor set. "Ok" The shop keeper took the rest of the armor and came back "That will be 15 gold. Would you like anything else?" Marax looks around the shop seeing different weapons, magical items and other stuff around the shop. He glanced at Evora the walks back to the shopkeeper. "Can you find me a weapon for her" he pushes Evora in front of him. The shopkeeper looks at her then walks goes to the back of the shop.

"Hey what are you doing?" Evora said with a pissed of look on her face. "You need to have something to protect yourself just in case in not there to protect you." He said as he sat in a chair. "No but I don't want you to spend money on me for something like that I can earn it myself!" She said as she clenched her fists and her face turned light red. "Well then you can work it off then choose any one you see fit." she pouts and turns around as the shopkeeper came in and laid out over 15 different daggers.

"Here you go choose the one you like." The shopkeeper said as Evora looked at the different daggers that it's handle was a dark red and the blade was black with a red light in the middle of the flat sides. "I want this one." She picked it up and Showed Marax. "Sure thing, that blade is made out of dragon scale. One of the strongest daggers I have possession of." Marax gets up and looks shocked. "H-how much is it" the shopkeeper laughs "for this little girls first weapon I'll sell it for 20 gold and 60 silver." Marax lets out a sigh and pays for the dagger and the armor which came out to be 35 gold and 60 silver then they walk out of the shop with their new gear.

"This is a lot lighter than i thought it would be," marax says as he moves his shoulders around," so do you know how to fight." he said as he glanced over to Evora.

"Yeah I know how to fight my da... my dad." when she said dad her smile dropped and her mood seemed like it jumped off a cliff. She still walked beside him looking down so he couldnt see her looking sad. Marax looks at her and placed a hand on her head "i'm sorry, you dont need to tell me anything right now but if you need someone to talk to im here." she nodds her head and continue walking. They eventually leave the city and walk to the village the walk there they didn't make any conversation. After 3 hours of walking they arrive to the village and arrive at the southerns Inn. "hey why are we stopping here Marax?" Shouldn't we go to the Town Hall?" she said while giving a confused look at the sign of the inn. "I want to say hi to someone and get more information on the situation." He walks in and Evora follows behind him with a super confused facial expression. She looks around inside kinda shocked on the interior of the place then is broken from the daze by a womans voice.

"Marax," siad by a woman from behind the bar counter, "what brings you here you were just here a few days ago werent you?"

Marax walks up to the counter and sits down. "hey catherine, I have a new mission and felt like dropping by."

Evora walks to the counter and sits next to marax. "so you know this lady?"

"W-wait is this your daughter?" she said with a confused and shocked look.

Marax was about to reply to the comment but was stopped by Evora hugging his arm then said "yes hes my dad." She smirked "we're doing a mission together."

"Ooh really? S-so.." She was stopped by marax's voice. "Don't mess around with her. We're not here to mess around." Evora's smirk dropped into a pout. "Why did you have to kill the fu marax's." She said "I just wanted to mess around."

"Yes I know but we have some serious work to do right now. Catherine can you tell me about the giant spiders near the village?" She gave a worried look at Marax then said "yeah they are on the south side of the village, in the Forrest." Marax looks at Evora "Do you want something to eat?" He said and Evora nods her head with a big smile on her face. "It's on the house" Catherine said "go wash your hands the bathroom is the second door on the left." Catherine said. Evora got up and rushed to the bathroom. "Hey can you do me a favor Catherine?"

"yeah sure what is it?" she said. " Can you watch her while I kill the spiders?" he said as he was getting up. "yeah of course." she said as he walked away. "Thanks I'll be back soon" he closed the door behind him and evora came out of the bathroom "wait where is marax." she said as she looked around? "Ooh he went to go get something he will be back soon." she said as she went to the back to get some food and said to herself in her head. "Please be safe for her sake."
