Ch.8 The Summoning Raid

The darkness slowly faided and the sun started to rise.Evora and I woke up ate some food then went off back to the barrack. We all got ready made sure we were well supplied with weapons, medician and food. The Jackson gave evora a sword he used to use when he was her age and a knife just in case. 

"thanks Jackson" Evora said as she equiped all her weapons. " Marax whats the plan?" I looked around and sow how many people were in the room "Are these all the people that will be helping with the raid" I said as I walked to the map and jackson was on the other side of the table. "yeah in total we have 12 people and thats including you and evora." I scratch my head and studied the map and see a abandon structure that was marked on the map near the forrest. "what is this here" I pointed at it "its a abandon farm. the spiders drove out the farmer closer to the city. "ok so I want 7 people post up there and try to kill as much spiders as they can because that will draw out more and me and 4 other people will go and sneak in as they are distracted." I show everyone the route and who would be doing what.

Jackson left with his group. Me and evora talked about the roles of the group. I was suppose to lead them through the forrest without being seen. Evora was back up but suppose to be a look out if we got into trouble. We had a sworsman named Derek and the other two were wizards. The fire wizard was named matt and the summoning wizard was tanner.

As we are all sneaking into throught the forrest slowly we see some spiders heading in the direction of the others "They must be doing a good job." Derek said and I nodded to his response and carried on.

"here comes the next wave!" Jackson said as a spider that pounced at him turn on fire and then ash " thanks" he waved at one of the wizards then ran in with a spear man. "time to get serious" he said as he puts on his metal gloves tha have huge blades on the knuckles. He jumps up and punches on in the back as instantly dies. The archers and mages fire and kill 3. Two jumped jackson and the spear man swings and knocks one away and the other jackson punched it with both fists and riped it in half. "Thats all Rest up and wait for the next."

We continued though the forrest and we didn't really see that many spiders after a while. "they are all distracted thats good. The queen wont be able to call for back up when we attack." we arrive at the middle of the forrest and see the wizards drew a huge symble on the floor. The wizards spoted us. 'how did they get in?" the leader looked at the queen spider. "kill them!" 

The Queen ran to us I shot a few arrows and looked like it had no effect on it. Tanner summoned a huge tree golem and it grabed the queen and made it so it cant move. Derek ran right under the golem and did a fun 360 and choped two legs off the spider then stabed the spider which was above him and ran with the sword slashing through its body. The spiders blood started ossing out all over the floor abrely missing Derek. As I ran towards the Golem and it placed his hand down on the floor and I jumped and it and it lifted me from the ground. I pulled out three arrows and got ready the golem tossed me up in the air and got a perfect aim on the spiders face. I shot the three arrow at its eyes and landed on the Queen. She pushed the golem away and tried to throw me off but fell on the floor. I ran and stabed it in the head and kicked the hilt of the sword and it went throw the queens head and it stoped moving.

"awesome we did it!" I heard derek coming from behind me. I was heavliy panting "y- yeah b-but were not d-done yet." we all walked towards the wizards and noticed they already started the ritual. I shot my power but their was a magic barrer. Matt started shooting fireballs on other spells at it and the golem whaling on the barrer.

"Evora keep an eye out for any spiders if you see them yell and let us know." she looked stunned on how we fighted but she gabe a nod and turned around and scaning the the forrest for any movements.  I turned back around and sow that the barreir was not budging and shows no sighns of weakness but then I noticed that when Matt used his fire magic it got slightly weaker.

"My lord were almost done." said a dark mage. "good after this step we will just need one more step" she said as he glanced at us with an evil smile then back to his servant. 

"Tanner summon a fire beast!" I said as i got ready an arrow. "Sure thing." he said as the golem vanished and randomly came out of no where above him and then a huge manlooking fire spirit was above him. "now what." he said. "make try to put his hands through the barrier and open it."

The spirit punched the barrier and shortly its fist went through and it griped the barrier and made a small opening. "Nice!" I got into position and shot a two arrows throught. 

"Boss we only need the la...." he was silenced by my arrow that sliced the rim of his throat and the boss shortly fell hit him in his spinalcord. The barrier fell exactly when the leader hit the floor and I rushed over and stoped when I heard laughter. The boss was laughing as blood came out of his mouth.

"y-You might have stopped th-this ritual b-but there are more." he smiled and took his last breath. "Hey guy destroy the circle. I'll Inform everyone and get people to help clean this all up." I said with trying to keep straight face and walked towards the town "Lets go evora." she shortly followed behind me. I whispered in my head "this is bad we can't let it happen."
